The two rivers which decide the boundary of this sub-district are Terekhol River and Chapora River. Terekhol river acts as a border of Maharashtra and Goa while Chapora river acts as a border of Pernem sub-district and Bardez sub-district.

Tilari (Forebay) Dam is situated in Dodamarg Taluka, in the Indian state of Maharashtra and the largest one is situated in Chandgad taluk of Kolhapur District in Maharashtra and is constructed on Tilari River as the result of a joint project by the Maharashtra and Goa governments. The water from this dam is distributed to both states. The dam is located near the border of Maharashtra and Karnataka and necessitated the relocation of several villages in the area. There are many reservoirs. The largest one is located near Belgaum in a village named Hajgoli in Maharashtra. The village is approximately 30 km from Belgaum and is a weekend spot for the people of that town.
Chapora Fort, located in Bardez, Goa, rises high above the Chapora River. The site is the location of a fort built by Adil Shahi dynasty ruler Adil Shah and called Shahpoora, whose name was altered to Shapora (chapora) by Malvankar on the request of the Portuguese. It is now become a popular tourist spot and offers a view north across the Chapora river to Morjim

Pernem–Karwar Suburban Railway is a suburban railway which is operational under the Konkan Railways of Indian Railways. It serves the area around Goa and parts of Karnataka. The DMU, EMU and MEMU trains are operated as local train in this suburban railway. It started operations in 2015 and the first train was "flagged off" by India's Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu.
