Paul Biwott (born 18 April 1978) is a Kenyan long-distance runner, who specialises in road running, particularly the marathon.
Among his earliest victories was the 2001 Route du Vin Half Marathon, which he won in a time of 1:03:05. [1] He was the winner of the Marseille-Cassis Classique Internationale in 2003. [2] Biwott took on the marathon distance at the Paris Marathon in 2004 and, in spite of stopping mid-race due to cramp, he continued to record a time of 2:10:30, which was enough for third place behind Ambesse Tolosa and Raymond Kipkoech. [3] He returned to Paris in 2005 and had a personal best run of 2:08.18, finishing second only to Salim Kipsang. [4] He also managed to finish seventh at the 2005 World Championships that year.
At the 2007 Eindhoven Marathon Biwott took second place with a time of 2:09:56, finishing behind Philip Singoei who ran a course record. [5] In 2009, Biwott won the Groet uit Schoorl Half Marathon. [6] In the 2009 season he was third at both the Vienna Marathon and JoongAng Seoul Marathon. Biwott's personal best time is 2:07:02 hours, achieved when he finished third in the 2009 Amsterdam Marathon. [7] He came close to winning the Eindhoven Marathon in October 2010, but was beaten in a sprint finish by both Charles Kamathi and Nicholas Chelimo and took third place behind them by a margin of two seconds. Biwott was the runner-up behind Hailu Mekonnen at the 2011 Tokyo Marathon. [9] [10] His second marathon outing of the year came at the Amsterdam Marathon, where he ran a personal best of 2:06:54 hours, yet only came sixth in a fast finishing field. [11] He was over three minutes slower at the 2012 Hamburg Marathon and finished in seventh place. [12]
Charles Waweru Kamathi is a Kenyan long-distance runner. He is best known for winning the 10,000 metres distance at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton.
Lornah Kiplagat is a Dutch professional long-distance runner. She was born in Kabiemit, Rift Valley Province, Kenya and moved to the Netherlands in 1999. She gained Dutch citizenship in 2003 and has competed for the Netherlands ever since. She used to run not only road events but also in cross country and track and field.
Eyerusalem Kuma is an Ethiopian long-distance runner, who competes in marathons. She has a personal best of 2:24:55 hours for the distance and was the 2009 winner of the Amsterdam Marathon.

She has represented Kenya at the Olympics, having competed in the 10,000 metres race at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Arusei has won races on the European road circuit, including the Dam tot Damloop, Berlin Half Marathon and Lisbon Half Marathon.
Nailiya Yulamanova is a Russian long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon.
Samuel Tsegay Tesfamriam is an Eritrean long-distance runner running for the Swedish track club Hälle IF and currently going through the process of acquiring Swedish citizenship, who specializes in the 5000 metres and 10,000 metres. As a junior, he competed in the junior races at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships, finishing seventeenth in 2005, eighth in 2006 and eighth in 2007. He finished fourth in the 10,000 metres at the 2006 World Junior Championships.
Nicholas Manza Kamakya is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competes in road running events, including marathons.
Nicholas Chelimo Kipkorir is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specialises in road running, including the marathon. He has a personal best of 2:07:38, set at the Eindhoven Marathon in 2010. He took his first win at the 2010 Nagano Marathon and had two straight wins at the Honolulu Marathon. He was the 2013 winner of the Cologne Marathon.
Getu Feleke (Amharic:) ጌቱ ፈለቀ; born 28 November 1986) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who runs mainly in half marathon and marathon races. He won the 2010 Amsterdam Marathon with a course record time of 2:05:44 and set his personal best of 2:04:50 hours in a second-place finish at the 2012 Rotterdam Marathon.
Wilson Kwambai Chebet is a Kenyan professional long-distance runner who specialises in road running competitions. He has a marathon best of 2:05:27 hours.
Erba Tiki Gelana is an Ethiopian professional long-distance runner who competes in marathon races. Her personal best of 2:18:58 remained the Ethiopian national record for the event from 2012 to 2017. She won the 2011 Amsterdam Marathon and the 2012 Rotterdam Marathon. She won the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics with a time of 2:23:07, a new Olympic record.
Genet Getaneh Wendimagegnehu is an Ethiopian professional long-distance runner who competes in half marathon and marathon competitions. She represented Ethiopia at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in 2007 and 2008, finishing fourth at the latter race. She is a two-time winner of the Great Ethiopian Run and won the 2010 Zevenheuvelenloop. She has a personal best of 2:25:38 hours for the marathon and 1:08:18 hours for the half marathon.
Dickson Kiptolo Chumba is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competes in marathon races. He has won the Rome, Eindhoven, Tokyo, and Chicago marathons and has a personal best of 2:04:32 for the distance.
Meseret Hailu Debele is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who competes in half marathons and marathons. She was the gold medallist at the 2012 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships and won the Amsterdam Marathon that same year. Her personal bests are 2:21:09 hours for the marathon and 66:56 minutes for the half marathon.
Mulugeta Wami is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who specialises in the marathon. He has a personal best of 2:07:11 hours for the distance. He was the 2013 winner of the Ljubljana Marathon.
Ezekiel Kiptoo Chebii is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competes in half marathon and marathon races. He has personal bests of 59:05 minutes and 2:09:15 hours, respectively. His half marathon best ranks him among the top twenty all-time for the distance. He has won the Madrid Marathon and the Lille Half Marathon, both in course record times.
