Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) was a public research university in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It was a collaboration between Indiana University and Purdue University that offered undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees from both universities. Administered primarily through Indiana University as a core campus and secondarily through Purdue University as a regional campus, it was Indiana's primary urban research and academic health sciences institution. IUPUI was located in downtown Indianapolis along the White River and Fall Creek.

Dane Fife is an American former college basketball player and assistant coach. Fife is the former head coach of the Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) Mastodons men's basketball team and a former college assistant coach at Michigan State University under Tom Izzo for ten years before leaving to become an assistant coach at his alma mater, Indiana University. IU Indy assumed its current identity on July 1, 2024, when the Indiana University and Purdue University systems dissolved the former Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). The vast majority of IUPUI academic programs, plus the IUPUI athletic program, were transferred to the new IU campus. The school's team currently competes in the Horizon League. The Jaguars made their first and to date only appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2003 when they won the Summit League Conference Championship.

Going forward, the team will represent Indiana University Indianapolis, which will start operation when the Indiana University and Purdue University systems dissolve IUPUI at the end of the 2023–24 school year. The school's team currently competes in the Horizon League.
Matt Kohn is an American college football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at Siena Heights University, a position he held on an interim basis in 2016 and full-time since 2017. Kohn played as a quarterback for two seasons in the Arena Football League with the Nashville Kats and Kansas City Brigade. He played college football at the University of Indianapolis. He was also a member of the Ohio Valley Greyhounds of United Indoor Football.
Adrian Moss is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Windsor Express of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL). Born in Centralia, Illinois, he played high school basketball for Franklin Community High School. Following his graduation, he committed to IUPUI to play college basketball. After his sophomore season at IUPUI he transferred to the University of Indianapolis, where he played for two more seasons.

The Jaguars, led by interim head coach Byron Rimm II, played their home games at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, Indiana as members of the Horizon League. They finished the season 7–25, 3–15 in Horizon League play, to finish in last place. They lost in the first round of the Horizon League tournament to UIC.
The IUPUI Jaguars men's basketball statistical leaders are individual statistical leaders of the IUPUI Jaguars men's basketball program in various categories, including points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. Within those areas, the lists identify single-game, single-season, and career leaders. As of the next college basketball season in 2024–25, the Jaguars represent Indiana University Indianapolis in the NCAA Division I Horizon League. This will follow the dissolution of Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis by the Indiana University and Purdue University systems at the end of the 2023–24 academic year and the establishment of separate IU- and Purdue-affiliated institutions. The athletic program has not announced its future branding; IU Indianapolis and IUI are both possibilities.
Melvyn J. Garland was an American basketball coach and player. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, he emerged as a star dual-sport athlete in basketball and baseball at Arsenal Technical High School. Garland attended Purdue University and played for the Boilermakers on the basketball and baseball teams. He was a member of all-conference teams in both sports but excelled at basketball, where he was an Honorable Mention All-American during his junior season.

The 2023–24 Horizon League men's basketball season began with practices in September 2023 and ended with the 2024 Horizon League men's basketball tournament in March 2024. This was the 44th season for Horizon League men's basketball.
The 2023–24 IUPUI Jaguars men's basketball team represented Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis in the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Jaguars, led by third-year head coach Matt Crenshaw, played their home games at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, Indiana as members of the Horizon League. They finished the season 6–25, 2–18 in Horizon League play to finish in tenth place. As the No. 10 seed in the Horizon League tournament, they lost Cleveland State in the first round.

The Jaguars, led by second-year head coach Kate Bruce, played their home games at IUPUI Gymnasium in Indianapolis, Indiana as members of the Horizon League.
The 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season will begin on November 4, 2024. The regular season will end on March 16, 2025, with the 2025 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament beginning with the First Four on March 18 and ending with championship game at the Alamodome in San Antonio on April 7.
