Paul Turner (born 11 March 1968 in Sunderland) [1] is an English musician who has been the bassist of the jazz-funk band Jamiroquai since 2005.
Turner joined the jazz-funk band Jamiroquai in 2005 and has co-written, recorded and performed live with the band ever since. As well as Jamiroquai, he is known for playing with Annie Lennox over a number of years. He formed the soulful jazz/ funk band Trioniq with Jamiroquai bandmate Rob Harris and Iwan VanHetten.
Other recording and/or live credits include Tina Turner, Bryan Ferry, Tom Jones, Seal and George Michael . In the 90‘s he was the Live-Bassist for the Boygroup Take That.
He has played with a number of soul & R&B singers such as Omar, Lamont Dozier and Mica Paris, and jazz-funk names like Brother Strut, Down to the Bone and Jeff Lorber, plus a long list of UK Pop bands as a recording musician and live performer.
Turner mainly uses basses built by Tom Stenback or vintage Fenders including a 1966 Fender Jazz, 1963 Fender Precision and a number of similarly styled instruments. For amplification he uses Aguilar amps and cabinets.
Jamiroquai are an English acid jazz and funk band from London. Formed in 1992, they are fronted by vocalist Jay Kay, and were prominent in the London-based funk and acid jazz movement of the 1990s. They built on their acid jazz sound in their early releases and later drew from rock, disco, electronic and Latin music genres. Lyrically, the group has addressed social and environmental justice. Kay has remained as the only original member through several line-up changes.
John FrancisAnthony Pastorius III, also known as Jaco Pastorius was an American jazz bassist, composer, and producer. Widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential bassists of all time, Pastorius recorded albums as a solo artist, band leader, and as a member of the jazz fusion group Weather Report from 1976 to 1981. He also collaborated with numerous artists, including Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny and Joni Mitchell.
Martina Michèle Weymouth is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and a founding member and bassist of the new wave group Talking Heads and its side project Tom Tom Club, which she co-founded with her husband, Talking Heads drummer Chris Frantz. In 2002, Weymouth was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Talking Heads.

After leaving Suicidal Tendencies, he performed with Ozzy Osbourne, Jerry Cantrell, and heavy metal band Black Label Society. Trujillo joined Metallica in 2003 and is the band's longest-serving bassist. He was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Metallica in 2009.

The Return of the Space Cowboy is the second album by English funk and acid jazz band Jamiroquai. The album was released on 17 October 1994 under Sony Soho Square. The album continues the musical direction of their debut, Emergency on Planet Earth (1993), and is characterised by its complex songwriting as a result of Jay Kay's creative block mid-production. Its lyrics addressed street life, hope, loss, Kay's drug use, and social matters regarding Native Americans and youth protests.
Synkronized is the fourth studio album by English funk and acid jazz band Jamiroquai. It was released on 8 June 1999 by Work Group in the United States, and on 14 June 1999 by S2 Records in the United Kingdom. Bassist Stuart Zender left the band during recording, and Nick Fyffe was hired as a replacement. The album contains funk, acid jazz and disco elements.
Nick Fyffe is an English bassist, known for being an ex-bassist of English funk group Jamiroquai. He replaced Stuart Zender in 1998 for the recording of "Deeper Underground" and their 1999 album Synkronized. He was in the process of applying to a Jamiroquai tribute band when he got the offer to join Jamiroquai. Fyffe recorded and toured with the band until his departure in 2003.

Meros has also played or recorded with such artists as Gary Myrick, Bobby Kimball of Toto, Simon Phillips, Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere and the Raiders, Big Big Train, Martin Orford and played for Eric Burdon and The Animals from 1990 through the end of 2005, and was the bass player for Iron Butterfly from 2015 through 2023. John Thirkell is a British trumpet and flugelhorn player, who has appeared on hundreds of pop, rock, and jazz recordings. Through the 1980s and early 1990s, he was on at least one album in the UK Charts continuously, without a break, for over 13 years. Shuffler are an English funk band formed in London in 2011 with a debut concert at the Jazz Café. The collective recorded their self-titled debut studio album, Shuffler in 2013. It has yet to be officially released although some promotional copies were distributed. The band is made up of Daniel Pearce on lead vocals and percussions, Paul Turner on bass, Rob Harris on guitar and Derrick McKenzie on drums. It has following in both United Kingdom and Europe.
