Paulson Panapa (born 1967[ citation needed ]) is a Tuvaluan politician and has been a civil servant and diplomat. From 6 June 2014,he represented Tuvalu as the High Commissioner to Fiji. [1] He was subsequently appointed as the High Commissioner to New Zealand from February 2017. [2]
Panapa was Assistant Clerk of the Tuvalu parliament from 1991 to 1995 and Clerk from 1995 to 2004. [3] In 2010 Panapa was the Secretary for Works,Water and Energy. [4] Panapa has held other roles as a senior civil servant,including in 2011 as Secretary for Education,Youth and Sports. [5] He was also a Tuvaluan sports director.
He was educated at Motufoua Secondary School where he played in the 1st Eleven football Team in 1982-1984. He was a midfield player (2008-2009) and trainer of F.C. Tofaga. Panapa was president of the Tuvalu Islands Football Association (TIFA),from 2001 to 2005. He was also chairman of TIFA from 2010 to 2014. Under his leadership,TIFA was actively trying to gain membership of FIFA. Panapa is the father of George Panapa and uncle of James Lepaio who plays for the Tuvalu national football team.
He was elected to parliament to represent Vaitupu in the 2024 general election. [6] [7] Panapa was appointed the Minister for Foreign Affairs,Labour,and Trade in the Teo Ministry. [8]

Saufatu Sopoanga was a Tuvaluan politician who served as the eighth prime minister of Tuvalu from 2 August 2002 to 27 August 2004. He drew international attention for his speeches warning about the effects of the rising sea level on Tuvalu and other low-lying island countries.

Tuvalu is a de facto non-partisan democracy since it does not have political parties. The political system is based on personal alliances and loyalties derived from clan and family connections. Seve Paeniu is a Tuvaluan politician. Paeniu was elected to the Parliament of Tuvalu in the 2019 Tuvaluan general election to represent the Nukulaelae electorate. He was appointed as the Minister of Finance in the Natano Ministry.
The Parliament of Tuvalu is the unicameral national legislature of Tuvalu. The place at which the parliament sits is called the Vaiaku maneapa. The maneapa on each island is an open meeting place where the chiefs and elders deliberate and make decisions.
Sir Iakoba Taeia Italeli is a Tuvaluan politician who was the governor-general of Tuvalu from 16 April 2010, until 22 August 2019, when he resigned to contest in the 2019 general election. Kausea Natano is a politician who served as the Prime Minister of Tuvalu from 19 September 2019 to 26 February 2024. He represented Funafuti as a Member of Parliament. He was first elected in the 2002 Tuvaluan general election and served as an MP until he was unseated in the 2024 Tuvaluan general election.
The Cabinet of Tuvalu is the executive branch of the government of Tuvalu.
The Tuvalu Islands Football Association (TIFA) is the governing body of football in Tuvalu. The association is responsible for the Tuvalu national football team and the Tuvalu national futsal team. Tuvalu is not a full member and is not affiliated with FIFA. It does not compete in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers because of its non-affiliation.

A by-election was held in the Niutao constituency in Tuvalu on 5 May 2003. It was triggered by the death of the incumbent MP, Saloa Tauia. Tauia, the Speaker of Parliament, died in February, after having entered Parliament in the July 2002 general election.
Samuelu Penitala Teo is a Tuvaluan politician. He is the son of Sir Fiatau Penitala Teo who was appointed as the first Governor General of Tuvalu (1978–1986) following independence from Great Britain. Samuelu Teo himself served as the Acting Governor-General of Tuvalu from January until 28 September 2021. He had succeeded Acting Governor-General Teniku Talesi and remained in office until the Rev. Tofiga Vaevalu Falani was sworn in as the 10th Governor-General in September 2021.
A by-election was held in the Nukufetau constituency in Tuvalu as the consequence of the appointment of the opposition member of parliament Faimalaga Luka as the Governor-General of Tuvalu.

Saloa Tauia was a Tuvaluan politician who served as Speaker of Parliament from August 2002 until his death in February 2003.
Amasone Kilei was a Tuvaluan politician who represented Nui. He was appointed the Minister of Health and the Minister of Education, Sports and Culture, in the government of Lagitupu Tuilimu, who was acting prime minister from 8 December 2000 to 24 February 2001.
