Peace and Love Songs is a compilation album from Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan. The album was released in the United States on 1 March 1996 (Sony Special Products 26474). The album was reissued in 2003 (Collectables 9342).

History

In 1996, Sony Special Products issued Peace and Love Songs, a budget compilation of Donovan's Epic Records recordings dating from 1966 to 1969. Sony Special Products selected some songs that are not as well known as Donovan's singles, including several album tracks.

Donovan Scottish singer, songwriter and guitarist

Donovan Phillips Leitch is a Scottish singer, songwriter and guitarist. He developed an eclectic and distinctive style that blended folk, jazz, pop, psychedelic rock, and world music. He has lived in Scotland, Hertfordshire (England), London, California, and since at least 2008 in County Cork, Ireland, with his family. Emerging from the British folk scene, Donovan reached fame in the United Kingdom in early 1965 with live performances on the pop TV series Ready Steady Go!.

Now That's What I Call Music! is a series of various artists compilation albums released in the United Kingdom and Ireland by Sony Music and Universal Music which began in 1983. Spinoff series began for other countries the following year, starting with South Africa, and many other countries worldwide soon followed, expanding into Asia in 1995, then the United States in 1998.

Anointed is a contemporary Christian music duo from Columbus, Ohio, known for their strong vocals and harmonies, featuring siblings Steve Crawford and Da'dra Crawford Greathouse, along with former members Nee-C Walls and Mary Tiller. Their musical style includes elements of R&B, pop, rock, funk and piano ballads. The group has won seven Dove Awards, two Stellar Awards and three Grammy Award nominations. The group has also been featured on several Christian compilation albums such as Real Life Music, 1996 and WOW The 90s.

Mellow Yellow is the fourth album from British singer-songwriter Donovan. It was released in the US in February 1967 (Epic Records LN 24239 / BN 26239, but not released in the UK because of a continuing contractual dispute that also prevented Sunshine Superman from a UK release. In June 1967, a cross-section of both albums was released as Sunshine Superman in the UK. "Mellow Yellow" was the name of Donovan's hit single released the previous November.

The Hit Factory Volume 2 is a compilation album released in November 1988 by Fanfare Records and PWL Records. It was an album featuring hits produced by British production trio Stock Aitken Waterman who were at their peak at the time of the album's release. The first compilation The Hit Factory: The Best of Stock Aitken Waterman was issued by Stylus in 1987. The range of tracks included four special 12" remixes, exclusive to the set, and also a previously unavailable track by an American group called Sequal. The album gained a platinum BPI Award and reached #16 in the UK Top 100 Album Chart.
