Pedro Valiente is a small village in the municipality of Tarifa in the Province of Cadiz in southern Spain. It is located 4.5 kilometres (2.8 mi) by road to the northwest of Tarifa, across the Salado River. [1] The Tarifa Kite School and Guzman House, a restaurant, are located here. There are also numerous apartments in the vicinity. [2]

The Siege of Cádiz was a siege of the large Spanish naval base of Cádiz by a French army from 5 February 1810 to 24 August 1812 during the Peninsular War. Following the occupation of Seville, Cádiz became the Spanish seat of power, and was targeted by 70,000 French troops under the command of the Marshals Claude Victor and Nicolas Jean-de-Dieu Soult for one of the most important sieges of the war. Defending the city were 2,000 Spanish troops who, as the siege progressed, received aid from 10,000 Spanish reinforcements as well as British and Portuguese troops.

Valiente is a Mexican luchador enmáscarado, or masked professional wrestler, and is mainly known for his work in the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). Valiente's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. Valiente is Spanish for "Valiant", expressed by the sword icon on his mask. Bolonia is a coastal village and beach in the municipality of Tarifa in the Province of Cadiz in southern Spain. It is located on the Atlantic shore, 22.9 kilometres (14.2 mi) by road west of Tarifa, but is much closer in terms of coastal distance. The beach and bay is also known as Playa de Bolonia, Ensenada de Bolonia, or Bolonia Bay. The ruins of the Roman town of Baelo Claudia are located near the beach, considered to be the most complete Roman town ruins yet uncovered in Spain. The beach is about 3.8 kilometres (2.4 mi) in length, with an average width of about 70 metres (230 ft). In 2011 it had a population of 117 people.

It is located 13.7 kilometres (8.5 mi) by road southwest of the city centre of Algeciras, along the main road to the southern tip of Spain at Tarifa, which is 9.7 kilometres (6.0 mi) away, and it lies just to the southwest of El Bujeo. Valdevaqueros is a village and beach in the municipality of Tarifa in the Province of Cadiz in southern Spain. It is located 9.7 kilometres (6.0 mi) by road to the northwest of Tarifa. Casa de Porros is a hamlet in the northwestern part. the beach measures about 4,050 metres (13,290 ft) by about 120 metres (390 ft) on average. Valdevaqueros has the Spin Out Kite surfing centre, established in 1988, and beachhouse and several hotels and a camping site and is a busy beach during the summer months, and borders the Playa de Los Lances. Behind a large dune created to protect the Punta Paloma coastal battery. Arroyo Valdevaqueros, on the eastern entrance point has several houses and a coast-guard station. In the western part of the beach is the mouth of the river valley that forms a broad estuary that runs along the beach a few metres from the sea until reaching several hundred metres east.

Iglesia de San Mateo (Tarifa) church building in Tarifa, Spain

Iglesia de San Mateo is the main church of Tarifa in the Province of Cadiz, Spain. It was supposed to have been built in 1506 on the remains of an old mosque, although worship at the church has only been mentioned in documents since 1534, another date given for its inauguration. Numerous alterations have been made to the church over the centuries. The main Baroque facade was designed by architect Torcuato Cayon de la Vega in 1774, and the work was completed four years later under the direction of maestro Carlos Hermida. The bell tower has a square, robust base, and is topped with a fluted dome. The Capilla del Sagrario was restored in 1899, a magnificent dome on scallops that extends to the ground forming three semicircular chapels.

Port of Tarifa

The Port of Tarifa is a commercial harbor for fishing and passenger boats, located in the Andalusian town of Tarifa. It is managed by the Port Authority of Algeciras and is the closest European port to North Africa and on the main shipping route to Tangier in Morocco and Ceuta. It has a length of 25 metres, and depth of 50 metres.
