Pendu Sound Recordings was an independent record label used by aTelecine, [1] Chelsea Wolfe, [2] Azar Swan, [3] Mater Suspiria Vision, [4] White Ring, [5] Talibam!, [6] Von Haze, [7] and others.

Contents

The label, also known as Pendu Sound, was started by Todd Brooks in 2005 for his PENDV projects and went defunct in 2013. [4] The parent company Pendu NYC  was known for its "Pendu Disco" dance parties. [8]

History

The Pendu Sound  compilation album Getting rid of the glue  with Excepter and Daniel Carter was listed as number 70 in Thurston Moore's "Top 80 of 2006". [8] [9] The White Ring Chaind Vol. 1  DJ mix released in August 2011 contains remixes of own tracks, NIИ, Rihanna, and others. [8] [5] Also in August the LP The Falcon and the Pod was released. [10]

In May 2012 Pendu Sound  joined forces with Frenchkiss Records [11] as a member of the Frenchkiss Label Group, which published a compilation of their works. [8] In November 2012 Noisey featured Todd Pendu. [12] In February 2013 Pendu Sound launched a digital single series with the Tempers. [13] [14] [15]

Excepter is an experimental music group from Brooklyn, founded in 2002 by No-Neck Blues Band member John Fell Ryan. They have released their work on labels such as Load Records and Animal Collective's Paw Tracks, and are known for their improvisational approach to playing both live and in the studio.

Orchid Tapes is an independent record label based in New York City. It was founded in 2010 by Warren Hildebrand. Operated by Hildebrand, the label has released a number of indie compilations and original releases on cassette tape, limited edition vinyl, and digital download. Among Orchid Tapes' signed bands are Coma Cinema, Foxes in Fiction, and Alex G. Azar Swan is the musical project of singer-songwriter and musician Zohra Atash, co-produced by Atash and Joshua Strawn. After dissolving their previous band, Religious to Damn, Atash and Strawn chose to begin experimenting with electronic instrumentation.

Planning for Burial is the musical project of American musician and singer-songwriter Thom Wasluck. Based in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Wasluck started to perform as "Burial" in 2005 and released the debut album, Leaving in 2009. Wasluck plays all instruments during both his home recordings and live performances.

Youth Code American electronic music group

Youth Code is an American EBM duo, formed in 2012 by Sara Taylor and Ryan George in Los Angeles, California. The duo's musical style, following the model of early Wax Trax! Records, has been described as industrial music infused with "hardcore angst." Following their self-released Demonstrational Cassette in 2012 and a chance meeting with Psychic TV, Youth Code were invited to release their first single, "Keep Falling Apart", through Angry Love Productions. Since then, they have released two full-length studio albums, an EP, and two additional singles.

Drowse

Drowse is the musical project of American musician and producer Kyle Bates. Based in Portland, Oregon, Bates founded the project in 2013 and released the debut album, Soon Asleep, in 2015.
