Persatuan Belia Islam Nasional or PEMBINA, (In English for "National Islamic Youth Association") is a Malaysian Muslim youth organisation based in Kajang with branches in 30 states and 89 campus in Malaysia. PEMBINA was founded in 2006 and is registered under the Registrar Office Youth Societies [1] under Malaysia Ministry of Youth & Sports. PEMBINA serves as the student society of Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia, with the intention to provide a working platform for its youth members to enhance youth empowerment and activism. [2]
The majority of PEMBINA members are youths and students from local universities, abiding by the Malaysian University and University College Act (AUKU) which allows tertiary students to be members of legal NGOs. PEMBINA has grown into the fourth-largest Muslim youth organisation in Malaysia. [3] PEMBINA aims to generate pious but well-rounded and multi-talented youths able to contribute to the welfare of society and uphold rightful beliefs. The Islamic society’s activities cover a vast spectrum of areas, being dynamic and energetic as youths should be. This includes sports, arts, outdoor camps, hiking and mountain climbing, fashion exhibitions, while also highlighting Islamic knowledge classes, studies, seminars and conventions.
In 2019, PEMBINA organizes the HIMMAH [4] program that attended by almost 1000 youth and university students. The objectives of the program to highlight are the new model of student movement by the focus on the five main agenda which is Muslim identity, Intellectualism, Volunteerism, Graduate Employability and Student Survival.

Reformasi is a political movement in Malaysia. It was initiated in September 1998 by Anwar Ibrahim, former Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, after he was sacked from his position by Malaysia's then-Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad. The movement, which began while the country hosted the Commonwealth Games, initially demanded the resignation of Malaysia's then-Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad, and for the end of the Barisan Nasional-led (BN) government. The movement consisted of civil disobedience, demonstrations, sit-ins, rioting, occupations and online activism.

Anwar bin Ibrahim is a Malaysian politician who is the 10th and current Prime Minister of Malaysia since 2022. He served as the 12th and 16th Leader of the Opposition from 2008 to 2015, and again from 2020 to 2022. He has been the chairman of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition since 2020, the second President of the People's Justice Party (PKR) since 2018 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tambun since November 2022. Malaysia Youth & Student Democratic Movement formed on 17 September 1998. The movement consists of a group of students from various universities who were responsible for presenting the effects of globalization on the youth and student movement in Malaysia. The presentation was in November 1998 where two conferences - Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the Asia Pacific People’s Assembly (APPA) were organized around that issue of economic policy in the framework of globalization and human rights.

The May Day Anti-GST Rally was a rally held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on May 1, 2014. The rally was organised by a coalition of 89 non-governmental organisations, including Oppressed People's Network, Parti Sosialis Malaysia, Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia, and Asalkan Bukan UMNO among others, and was supported by the opposition Pakatan Rakyat. The rally, which coincided with International Workers' Day, was held in response to the Malaysian government's plan to introduce the goods and services tax on April 1, 2015. The rally saw participants march from Kuala Lumpur City Centre and other rally points in the city to the eventual destination, Dataran Merdeka.
Dato' Seri Haji Amirudin bin Shari is a Malaysian politician who has served as the 16th Menteri Besar of Selangor since June 2018, Member of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Sungai Tua since May 2018 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Gombak since November 2022. He served as Member of the Selangor State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) state administrations under former Menteri Besar Azmin Ali from September 2014 to his promotion to the Menteri Besarship in June 2018 as well as the MLA for Batu Caves from March 2008 to May 2018. He is a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the PH and formerly PR coalitions. He has also served as the Vice-President of PKR since July 2022 and State Chairman of PH of Selangor since March 2020 as well as of Pahang from September 2022 to August 2024.
The Green Party of Malaysia is a political party in Malaysia with an environmentalism focus. It was formed in 2010 as a virtual movement. Founder Azlan Adnan's original intent was to empower and unite all Environmental NGOs (ENGOs) in Malaysia and to push the green agenda into the Malaysian political consciousness. The party is affiliated with Himpunan Hijau with more than 80 NGO's. The party was initially anti-Barisan Nasional but over the years have become more divergent and is more critical of both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan.
The Gagasan Sejahtera was a coalition of opposition Islamist political parties which promote the "ideas of peace" in Malaysia. The informal electoral pact was formed initially on 16 March 2016 by Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) and Parti Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia (IKATAN) as a Third Force to face both ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) and the opposition Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalitions in the upcoming 2018 Malaysian general election (GE14). It had announced on 13 August 2016 the pact to be formally called Gagasan Sejahtera. Pan-Malaysian Islamic Front (BERJASA) had later joined the coalition on 23 September 2016. The formation of the alliance brought criticism from both the main coalitions of BN and PH.

The National Concord was a Malaysian political coalition that was formed between the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) and United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) against the then-ruling Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition which had come into power after the 2018 Malaysian general election (GE14). The political cooperation between the two largest Malay/Muslim-based parties was officialised with the signing of the Piagam Muafakat Nasional. The five-point charter was signed by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in the Himpunan Penyatuan Ummah held at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur on 14 September 2019. Its main aim is to unite the Malay/Muslim community or Ummah for electoral purposes.
