The cinema of Italy comprises the films made within Italy or by Italian directors. Italy is widely considered one of the birthplaces of art cinema, and the stylistic aspect of Italian film has been one of the most important factors in the history of Italian film. As of 2018, Italian films have won 14 Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film as well as 12 Palmes d'Or, one Academy Award for Best Picture and many Golden Lions and Golden Bears.

Iginio Straffi is an Italian animator and former comic book author. He is the founder and president of Rainbow SpA, which he co-owned alongside the American media company Paramount Global from 2011 until 2023. Straffi is the creator of the studio's animated series Winx Club and Huntik: Secrets & Seekers, as well as the co-creator of its comic book series Maya Fox.

Pet Pals: Marco Polo's Code, also released simply as Pet Pals, is a 2010 Italian animated children's film directed by Sergio Manfio and Francesco Manfio, from a screenplay by Sergio, Francesco and Anna Manfio. Produced by Gruppo Alcuni, Marco Polo's Code is based on the Pet Pals animated children's television series. It was released in Italian cinemas on 22 January 2010. A sequel, titled Pet Pals in Windland, was released on 27 March 2014.
