Peter Schaale (born 14 June 1996) is a German professional footballer.
Until 2009, Schaale played for the academy of local club SV Wittlich. [1] That year, he joined the academy of Regionalliga side SV Eintracht Trier. [2] In July 2012, Schaale switched to the academy of 2. Bundesliga side 1. FC Köln. [3] In 2014–15, Schaale played for the academy of Regionalliga side FC Viktoria Köln and made 24 appearances in the Under 19 Bundesliga that season, scoring two goals. [4] In 2015–16, he played his first season of senior football with German Landesliga Mittelrhein side SG Köln-Worringen. [3]
In 2016, Schaale moved to Canada to attend Cape Breton University in Nova Scotia. In three seasons with the CBU Capers he made a total of 35 appearances and scored nine goals. [5] [6] [7] On 8 November 2018, he was named Atlantic University Sport Men's Soccer MVP and was later named Cape Breton University Male Athlete of the Year. [8] [9]
In 2018, Schaale played for Premier Development League side Victoria Highlanders, making twelve appearances. [10]
On 14 November 2018, Schaale was selected in the first round of the CPL–U Sports Draft, fifth overall by HFX Wanderers. [11] On 29 March 2019, Schaale officially signed with Halifax. [12] He made his debut on 28 April 2019 as a starter in the Wanderers' inaugural match. [4] On 30 May 2019, he scored his first professional goal in the 15th minute of a 1–1 draw against York9. [4] Schaale made seventeen league appearances that season and another five in the Canadian Championship. [4] In mid August 2019, Schaale left the club to complete his studies at Cape Breton University in the fall. [13]
On 12 December 2019, Schaale re-signed with Halifax for the 2020 season. [14] After the 2022 CPL season, Schaale's contract option was declined by the Wanderers, ending his time with the club. [15]
Schaale was born in Wittlich, Rhineland-Palatinate and lived in Frankfurt for the first five years of his life when his father worked for Eintracht Frankfurt, after which his family moved back to Wittlich. [16]

Cape Breton University (CBU) is a public university located in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is the only post-secondary degree-granting institution within the Cape Breton Regional Municipality and on Cape Breton Island. The university is enabled by the Cape Breton University Act passed by the Nova Scotia House of Assembly. Prior to this, CBU was enabled by the University College of Cape Breton Act (amended). The University College of Cape Breton's Coat of Arms were registered with the Canadian Heraldic Authority on May 27, 1995.
The CBU Capers are the athletic teams that represent Cape Breton University in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The teams were known as the UCCB Capers from 1982 to 2005 and their present name reflects the change in the institution's name. There are CBU Capers varsity teams for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer. There is also a CBU Capers women's hockey team which plays in the Atlantic Collegiate Hockey Association.
Halifax Wanderers FC, also written as HFX Wanderers FC, is a Canadian professional soccer club in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The club competes in the Canadian Premier League (CPL) at the top of the Canadian soccer league system, and play their home matches at Wanderers Grounds.
The 2019 HFX Wanderers FC season was the first season in the club's history having been founded on 5 May 2018, as well as the first season in Canadian Premier League (CPL) history. Stephen Hart was the club's first manager, with the team playing at Wanderers Grounds. The season covers the period from 1 November 2018 through to 31 October 2019. Hart, like his peers in the CPL, built a squad from the ground up, and made use of all available mechanisms for player recruitment: the CPL Open Trials, the U-Sports Draft, and benefiting from his domestic and international connections, particularly from his native Trinidad & Tobago.
