Peter Francis Soteropoulos (born 5 August 1981) is a Greek-American baseball player who competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics. [1]
A native of Danvers,Massachusetts,Soteropoulos played college baseball at the University of Connecticut. In 2001,he batted .364 with 60 hits,tossed 18 innings on the mound with a 4.50 ERA,and was named a third-team all-Big East Conference selection. [2] After the 2001 season,he played collegiate summer baseball with the Chatham A's of the Cape Cod Baseball League. [3] As a senior at UConn,he was a first-team all-Big East selection,batting .381 with 43 RBI. [4]
In 2003,he was a member of the silver medal-winning Greek National Baseball Team at the 2003 European Baseball Championship. [4] He was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 40th round of the 2003 MLB Draft. He played in the Cardinals' system in 2003 with the New Jersey Cardinals,and in 2004 with the Peoria Chiefs. He competed for the homestanding Greek team in the 2004 Athens Olympics,posting a 0–1 record on the mound.

Larry Kenneth Robert Walker is a Canadian former professional baseball right fielder. During his 17-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career,he played with the Montreal Expos,Colorado Rockies,and St. Louis Cardinals. In 1997,he became the only player in major league history to register both a .700 slugging percentage (SLG) and 30 stolen bases in the same season,on his way to winning the National League (NL) Most Valuable Player Award (MVP). The first player in more than 60 years to record a batting average of .360 in three consecutive seasons from 1997 to 1999,Walker also won three NL batting championships. He was inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 2007,and the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in the Class of 2009,and was named the 13th-greatest sporting figure from Canada by Sports Illustrated in 1999. In 2020,he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The Chatham Anglers,more commonly referred to as the Chatham A's and formerly the Chatham Athletics,are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Chatham,Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's East Division.
