Peter Gerard Verhoeven (born February 15, 1959) is a retired American professional basketball player.

He was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 1981 NBA draft and played for four teams throughout his six-year NBA career, averaging 3.5 points and 2.3 rebounds a game.

Born in Hanford, California, he played collegiately at Fresno State University until 1981, and in 2006 was inducted into the Fresno Athletic Hall of Fame. [1]

This was head coach Boyd Grant's fifth season at Fresno State. The Bulldogs played their home games at Selland Arena and were members of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association. They finished the season 27–3, 13–1 in PCAA play to win the conference regular season title. They defeated Cal State Fullerton to win the PCAA tournament and earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Bulldogs lost in the Sweet Sixteen to eventual runner-up Georgetown, 58–40.
