Petr Hannig is a Czech singer, producer, politician and leader of the Party of Common Sense. [1]

In July 2017, he announced his candidacy for the president of the Czech Republic in the 2018 election. [2] Having finished seventh in the first round with 0.56% of the vote, [3] Hannig then endorsed Miloš Zeman for the second round. [4]

Hannig is a Roman Catholic. [5]

Petr Nečas

Petr Nečas is a Czech former politician who served as 9th Prime Minister of the Czech Republic and Leader of the Civic Democratic Party from 2010 to 2013, and as Member of the Chamber of Deputies (MP) from 1993 to 2013.

The women's section of AC Sparta Praha is a women's football club from Prague, Czech Republic. Together with their local neighbour Slavia, Sparta dominates the national league having won 20 of the 27 titles while Slavia has won the other seven. They have taken part in UEFA competitions several times and got their best result in the 2005–06 UEFA Women's Cup when they reached the quarter-finals, losing over two legs to Djurgården.

Michal Horáček

Michal Horáček is a Czech entrepreneur, lyricist, poet, writer, journalist and music producer. From 2007 until 2010, he was the chairman of the Czech Academy of Popular Music. He founded Czech betting company Fortuna. He stood to become Czech president in the 2018 presidential election, but came in 4th in the first round, failing to advance.

2013 Czech presidential election

Presidential elections were held in the Czech Republic in January 2013, the country's first direct election for the presidency. No candidate received a majority of the votes in the first round on 11–12 January, so a second round runoff election was held on 25–26 January. Nine individuals secured enough signatures or support of parliamentarians to become official candidates for the office. Miloš Zeman of the Party of Civic Rights (SPOZ) and Karel Schwarzenberg of TOP 09 qualified for the second round, which was won by Zeman with 54.8% of the vote, compared to Schwarzenberg's 45.2%. Zeman assumed office in March 2013 after being sworn in.

ANO 2011

ANO 2011 is a populist political party in the Czech Republic. The party was founded by Andrej Babiš, the second-richest person in the Czech Republic, owner of the Agrofert conglomerate, and Mafra media group, and the current Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. It is based on the former movement Action of Dissatisfied Citizens. "Ano" means "yes" in Czech.

2018 Czech presidential election

Presidential elections were held in the Czech Republic in January 2018. The first round took place on 12 and 13 January. As no candidate won a majority, a run-off election between the top two candidates, Jiří Drahoš and President Miloš Zeman, was held on 26 and 27 January 2018.

2002 Civic Democratic Party leadership election

The Civic Democratic Party (ODS) leadership election, 2002 happened after party was defeated in legislative election. The incumbent leader Václav Klaus decided to not participate in the election. The main Candidates included Petr Nečas, Jan Zahradil and Mirek Topolánek. Petr Nečas was considered front-runner but unexpectedly lost in second round to Mirek Topolánek who was considered a Dark horse of the election. 353 delegates could vote.

Jiří Drahoš is a Czech physical chemist and politician who has been the Senator of Prague 4 since October 2018. Previously, Drahoš served as President of the Czech Academy of Sciences from 2009 to 2017, and was a candidate in the 2018 Czech presidential election.

<i>Medieval</i> (film)

Medieval is an upcoming Czech action historical drama film by Petr Jákl. It is about the life of Jan Žižka, a Bohemian military commander who never lost a battle. The film is set prior to the Hussite Wars (1419-1434), when Žižka was young. It tells the story of how Žižka became a famous military commander. It is the most expensive Czech film ever made.

2018 Civic Democratic Party leadership election

The next Civic Democratic Party (ODS) leadership election will be held on 13 January 2018. The incumbent leader Petr Fiala seeks reelection. Shadow Minister of Education Václav Klaus Jr. was widely expected to run against Fiala. He is considered to be the most visible politician of the party. In December 2016, Czech bookmaker company Fortuna wrote a course for Klaus Jr. to replace Fiala on 20:1. Klaus Jr.. decided to not run against Fiala. Approximately 540 delegates were allowed to vote. Fiala received 451 votes and was elected for another term.

Vratislav Kulhánek is a Czech business manager and former Chairman of the Czech Ice Hockey Association. He stood as a candidate in the 2018 presidential election as a nominee of the Civic Democratic Alliance, finishing ninth of nine candidates.

2018 Green Party (Czech Republic) leadership election

The Green Party (SZ) leadership election of 2018 was held on 20 January 2018. The incumbent leader Matěj Stropnický wasn't running for reelection. It will be held following 2017 legislative election in which party received only 1.46% of votes. Mayor of Prague 4 Petr Štěpánek was elected the new leader.

The 2018 Czech presidential election debates were a series of debates held for the 2018 Czech presidential election. The incumbent president and front-runner Miloš Zeman declined to participate in debates for the first round. Zeman agreed to participate in debates against Jiří Drahoš for the second round.

Next Czech presidential election

Presidential elections will be held in the Czech Republic no later than January 2023. The incumbent president Miloš Zeman is not eligible to run for another term. The election will most likely be direct. There has been speculation that Miloš Zeman will not finish his second term.
