Petra Zublasing (born 30 June 1989) is an Italian sport shooter who won the 10 m air rifle event at the 2014 World Championships.

Career

She first competed internationally in 2003, having begun sports shooting in 2001. [1]

She competed in the Women's 10 metre air rifle and the women's 50 metre three positions events at the 2012 Summer Olympics. [2] [3] She won her first World Cup event in 2013 in Granada. [4] In 2014, she won her greatest title to date, winning the women's 10 m air rifle event at the 2014 World Championships. [1] To win, she beat the then reigning Olympic champion Yi Siling by 0.3 points with the last shot of the event. [5] Earlier that year, she had set a new world record in the women's 50 m three positions event at the World Cup event in Fort Benning, having set the previous world record at the 2013 World Cup Final in Munich. At the 2016 Olympics she competed in the same two events, reaching the final in the 50 m. [3] She studied at West Virginia University. [8]

This article details the qualifying phase for shooting at the 2016 Summer Olympics. 366 quota places for the Games are entitled to the shooters coming from their respective NOCs, based on the results at designated ISSF supervised Championships subjected to the ISSF rules from August 1, 2014, to March 31, 2016, while the remaining twenty-four are available to the eligible NOCs under the Tripartite Commission Invitation to get a total quota of 390. Host nation Brazil has been guaranteed nine quota places with one in each of the following events: 50 m rifle prone, 25 m rapid fire pistol, 10 m air pistol, 10 m air rifle (women), trap, and skeet.

Lesia Severynivna Leskiv is a Ukrainian sport shooter. She represented Ukraine in rifle shooting in the Olympic Games in 1996, 2000, and 2004, finishing within the top fifteen in the games. Leskiv also earned four medals at the World Championships, and five more, including three golds, at the European Championships, bringing them up to her remarkable career tally of nine. A full-fledged member of the Lvov Army Forces, Leskiv trained for the shooting club under her personal coach Vadym Vysochyn.

Éva Joó is a Hungarian sport shooter. She has competed for Hungary in rifle shooting at four Olympics, and has been close to an Olympic medal in 1996. Apart from her Olympic career, Joo has successfully produced a career tally of nineteen medals in a major international competition: a gold at the 1990 ISSF World Championships in Moscow, Soviet Union, a total of three at the ISSF World Cup final, a total of nine at various meets of the World Cup series, and a remainder of six under both junior and senior categories at the European Championships since her sporting debut in 1987.
