Debashree Roy also known as Debasree Roy, is an Indian actress, dancer, choreographer, politician and animal rights activist. As an actress, she is known for her work in Hindi and Bengali cinema. She has been cited as the reigning queen of Bengali commercial cinema. She acted in more than a hundred films and won over forty awards, including a National Award, three BFJA Awards, five Kalakar Awards and an Anandalok Award. As a dancer, she is known for her stage adaptations of the various forms of Indian folk dances as well as her innovative dance forms imbued with elements from Indian classical, tribal and folk dance. She runs Natraj dance troupe. She is the founder of Debasree Roy Foundation, a non-profit organisation that works for the cause of stray animals. Roy was a Member of the Legislative Assembly from Raidighi constituency since 2011 till 2021.

The film features Ranjit Mallick, Biplab Chatterjee, Manoj Mitra, Debashree Roy, Subhendu Chatterjee, Chumki Choudhury, Haradhan Bandopadhyay, Arjun Chakraborty, Lokesh Ghosh and Rina Choudhury in lead roles, while Supriya Devi did a guest appearance. The music of the film was composed by Tapan Chakraborty, background music was scored and lyrics were penned by Leela Choudhury.
Coolie is a 2004 Indian Bengali-language action drama film directed by Swapan Saha, written by N.K. Salil and produced by Vijay-Laxmi Movies Pvt. Ltd. Khawto (English:Wound) is a 2016 Bengali erotic romantic thriller film directed by Kamaleshwar Mukherjee under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films. The Film stars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Paoli Dam and Raima Sen in lead roles. The film was premiered on 21 July 2016 in Kolkata. The film met with positive reviews upon release.
Shubho Drishti was a popular Bengali television soap opera. It premiered on 1 January 2018. It aired on Colors Bangla. It starred Gourab Roy Chowdhury and Aishwarya Sen in lead roles and Bidipta Chakraborty and Sukanya Goswami in a negative role. The show was produced by Shibaji Panja of Vandana Films and Enterprises. Prasenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta played cameo roles in this serial.

It was premiered on 27 January 2020 The show produced by Acropoliis Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., starred Shyamoupti Mudly and Indrajeet Bose as the titular protagonists Tara and Dhruba respectively. It ended on 19 September 2021 with a happy note.
