Tracy Kirabo, known professionally as Pia Pounds, is a Ugandan singer-songwriter of electronic dance, RnB and afrobeat music, and a performer, Fashionista, actress and businesswoman.

She is the first Ugandan female artiste to have a single ("Tupaate") featured in a Netflix series (Young, Famous & African). [1] She is also the co-founder of the African Bureau of Music (ABM). [2] [3]

Early life and career

Born on 8 November 1996 in Gomba and raised in Buziga by her auntie after the death of her mother when she was 2 years old. Pounds grew up doing odd jobs in order to sustain herself, raise money for school fees and also get money for her music career. She demonstrated her musical talents from a young age through music dance. She has performed live in Uganda, UAE, Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan. [4]

In 2011, Pounds was first recognised on the music scene at 14 years while in high school with her song titled "Just the Way You Are" which featured Ragga dee. She took a hiatus in music and returned to finish high school. [5]

She returned into music while she was a sophomore student at university in 2017. [6] She was signed by Eddy Kenzo’s Big Talent Entertainment label in 2018. [7] [8] [9] Under Big Talent, Pounds' biggest releases were Tubawe and Wawangula. [10] [11] She refused to renew her contract with the label and exited Big Talent Entertainment and started releasing her music as an independent artist in 2019. [12] [13] She later teamed up with producer Kuseim and founded Pia Pounds Limited and co-founded the African Bureau of Music(ABM), [2] [3] where she released a string of singles and albums like Tupaate and Bitimba.

In 2020, her EP titled Tupaate topped Uganda's hit list chart up-to-date example "Apple Music Top 100 Uganda 2023" , her song "Tupaate" is part of the soundtrack for the Netflix show Young, Famous and African. [14] "Tupaate RMX" (featuring Eddy Kenzo and McAfrika) was Trace Muzik "Song of the Year".

In her tweet on 7 April 2024, stressing accessibility and air play of Uganda's biggest soccer uganda Premier League. FUFA president Moses Magogo Hassim pledged support for her for supporting and posting about Uganda Premier League. [19]

Alex Julius Kwesigabo, better known by his stage name Flex D'Paper, is a Ugandan rapper and songwriter born and raised in Kampala. Starting off his music career, Flex D'Paper was part of the high school rap group, The Rapaholix, which he started with friends, Dasper Cosine and later joined by Apass as an affiliate with whom the trio put out a mix tape, The Eviction Notice that included chart topping singles like "Burning", "Party Life" and "Follow Me" which topped countdowns in Uganda such as NTV and Sanyu FM. Sheebah Karungi, professional also known as Queen Karma and Sheebah, is a Ugandan musician, dancer, actress and feminist activist. She debuted her acting career in Queen of Katwe as Shakira. After quitting Obsessions, a dance group she joined in 2006, she started making music and later rose to recognition upon the release of her hit single "Ice Cream". In 2014, she released her debut project Ice Cream, a five-track EP which did well commercially and led her to win back-to-back HiPipo Music Awards Best Female Artist in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. She also won the Artist of the Year award twice, in 2017, 2018, and 2019 at the HiPipo Music Awards. In 2024, she was appointed vice president of the Uganda National Musician Federation assisting Eddy Kenzo who is the president of the federation.

She became the first female Ugandan act to appear on the New York "Times Square" and Los Angeles billboards.

Ssemanda Manisul, known professionally as King Saha, is a musician from Entebbe in Uganda. King Saha is an Afro-Beat / Zouk artiste and the executive director of Kings Love Entertainment.

Born To Conquer (B2C) Entertainment, also known as Kampala Boys, is a Ugandan music group of three musicians who sing together. B2C is made of [Delivad Julio], [Mr. Lee B2C] and [Bobby Lash B2C]. Delivad Julio and Mr. Lee sing with soothing soft RnB vocals while Bobby Lash B2C sings the Ragga and dancehall vibes. Mugisha Richard, professionally known as Mr. Lee B2C, is a Ugandan musician born on 24 January 1992. Mr. Lee B2C was born from Nsambya Hospital in Kampala from the family of Mr. Mugisha Joseph and the late Busingye Beatrice Mugisha. He is a professional musician signed under the B2C Entertainment (B2C).

Ssali Peterson professionally known as Bobby Lash B2C is a Ugandan musician born on 20 April 1992 from Namirembe Hospital in Kampala District in Uganda. Bobby Lash was born to the family of Mr. Ssali Peter and Mrs. Nabukeera Teopista. He is a professional musician signed under the B2C Entertainment record label since 2016.

Aida Victoria Nkityo Sebakiggye, known professionally as Aida Vee is a Ugandan-American musician. Aida Vee was one of the co-founders and the lead singer for the Urbana Band, a live performing band that covered various genres of music. During her time at Vienna College Namugongo in high school, she received several awards for her talent and creativity. She represented Africa in the Napa festivals while still at Gayaza Junior School in primary/grade three and she has been recognized for her contribution to the music industry.
