Pindiga is the capital of the Pindiga Emirate located in Akko Local government area of Gombe state, Nigeria . [1] [2] Pindiga is a house with a fascinating history that was built by Jukun between the 16th and 17th century. The village began with a small group of people living on a rock and has now grown to become the fifth largest Emirates in Gombe State. [3]
Pindiga is a historic town in Akko Local Government Area, Gombe State the Jukun people from Yemen began to settle in the region of the back people in the 16th and 17th century.
The emir "Sarki" of Gombe Buba Yaro began waging war against them in the village of Binga in the year 1815 A.D., but despite all of his efforts, he was unable to overcome them until the end of his life.
The fight continues in this manner until the period of Gombe's emir, Umarun Kwairanga. The soldiers who combat the Jukun in the Binga region form a serious assembly of soldiers from Bauchi, Misau, Jama'are, and other places. Unless those who flee in the hope of saving their lives, the style of battle waged against them is called as operation kill all.
The few who fled subsequently returned and settled on a rock they named "Kartum." They opted to name their new colony after the name given to them as a result of their previous settlement in Khartoum, which is now in Sudan. [3]
After a long amount of time on the rock, they decide to migrate to a location that is less than one and a half kilometers from their previous location and dwell on another rock known as puli, which is now known as Jukun rock and is located behind Pindiga.
After colonial overlords defeated Gombe in a fight in 1903, they dropped Jukuns from the cliffs and settled in Pindiga. [3]
Pindiga which is one of the towns and Villages in Akko Local Government area has two peculiar festivals; Eku and Tangra festival [4]
Primary schools located in pindiga town include Central primary school, Udan-boma primary school and Gwagol primary school [5] [6]
The only federal University found in the town is the Federal University Kashere (FUK), Gombe state. [7] [8] It is centered on pursuits and acquisition of knowledge as well as commitment to service of learning, The Motto of FUK is 'Education for Global Citizenship'. [9]

Jukun are an ethno-linguistic group or ethnic nation in West Africa. The Jukun are traditionally located in Taraba, Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau, Adamawa, Bauchi and Gombe States in Nigeria and parts of northwestern Cameroon. They are descendants of the people of Kwararafa. Most of the tribes in the north central of Nigeria trace their origin to the Jukun people and are related in one way or the other to the Jukuns. Until the coming of both Christianity and Islam, the Jukun people were followers of their own traditional religions. Most of the tribes, Alago, Agatu, Rendere, Goemai in Shendam, and others left Kwararafa when it disintegrated as a result of a power tussle. The Jukuns are divided into two major groups; the Jukun Wanu and Jukun Wapa. The Jukun Wanu are fishermen residing along the banks of the river Benue and Niger where they run through Taraba State, Benue State and Nasarawa State. The Wukari Federation, headed by the Aku Uka of Wukari, is now the main centre of the Jukun people.

Dr Abubakar Buba Atare II is the second Mai or King of Tula Chiefdom, who was crowned on 21 December 2009 after the death of his father Buba K. Atare on 13 December 2009. Mai Abubakar was at the time of his appointment an engineering undergraduate student of Middlesex University, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Dr Abubakar Kokiya Atare Buba is the second Mai or King of Tula Chiefdom in Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State. and is the secretary Gombe State Council of Emirs & Chiefs. The Mai in 2017, donated a parcel of land for the construction of a golf course in Tula. he made the announcement during the opening ceremony of the maiden edition of Gombe Talba Open golf tournament at the Gongila Valley Golf Court, Ashaka Cement Factory in Gombe State. In 2018 during the annual tula cultural day HRH Mai Tula Dr Abubakar Kokiya Buba Atare II called on his people of Tula and the entire Southern Gombe Tangale Waja to be more united, an occasion that was graced by the Executive Governor of Gombe State Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo and the Emir of Misau HRH Ahmed Sulaiman who was a former secretary to the Bauchi state Government. In November 2017 the Mai attended the funeral rites of Daktibe Jalingo and his son who were murdered by gunmen, a gesture which we almost never see between kings and their subjects, in his speech he condemned the attack and tasked the authorities to apprehend the culprits in order to face full wrath of the law
The Federal University of Kashere, also known as FUKashere, is a public conventional university situated in North Eastern part of Nigeria. The recently established university is situated in the small city of Kashere an administrative territory of Pindiga, Akko local government in Gombe State Nigeria. It was established in 2010 by Goodluck Jonathan administration as one of the nine new federal universities created in the six geo-political zones of Nigeria. The university was established in the bid to increase access to education and also to ensure equity among all the States in Nigeria.

Jekadefari Area of Gombe State: is the combination of two different words "jeka" is a Hausa word meaning follow and "defari" meaning white. Jekadefari means "follow the white men". It was the area that white men settled then after they conquered the emir of Gombe in 1903.
