Barisal Division is one of the eight administrative divisions of Bangladesh. Located in the south-central part of the country, it has an area of 13,225 km2 (5,106 sq mi), and a population of 9,325,820 at the 2022 Census. It is the least populous Division in Bangladesh. It is bounded by Dhaka Division on the north, the Bay of Bengal on the south, Chittagong Division on the east and Khulna Division on the west. The administrative capital, Barisal city, lies in the Padma River delta on an offshoot of the Arial Khan River. Barisal division is criss-crossed by numerous rivers that earned it the nickname Dhan-Nodi-Khal, Ei tin-e Borishal.

Noakhali Sadar is an upazila of Noakhali District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Noakhali Thana was established in 1861 and was converted into an upazila in 1984. The upazila takes its name from the district and the Bengali word sadar (headquarters). It is the subdistrict where the district headquarters, Noakhali town, is located. The town is situated on the western bank of the Noakhali Canal, from which it takes its name. The Noakhali Canal was dug in 1660 to control flooding of the river Dakatia. The name Noakhali means "New canal", derived from the Bengali words noa (new) and khal (canal).
National University is a public collegiate university of Bangladesh that was established in 1992 by an Act of Parliament as an affiliating university of the country to impart graduate and post-graduate level education to students through its affiliated colleges, schools and professional institutions throughout the country. The number of colleges under the NU is 2,257. Among these, 555 are government colleges. A total of 881 colleges offer honors courses. It is the Second largest university in the world in terms of enrollment. The headquarters is in Gazipur, on the outskirts of Dhaka. After its establishment, the university began affiliating with association degree-awarding colleges, many of which were previously affiliated with the University of Dhaka, University of Rajshahi, University of Chittagong and Shahjalal University of Science and Technology.
Jamalpur Science & Technology University is a government financed public university of Bangladesh. It is established on 28 November 2017 vide act no 24 of 2017 as the 44th public university of Bangladesh.Later it renamed at 2024 as Jamalpur Science & Technology University.The Honorable Chancellor of the University and President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh appointed Professor Dr. Mohammad Raknuzzaman as the 3rd Vice Chancellor. He joined as the Vice Chancellor of Jamalpur Science and Technology University on 22 October 2024. Although a new university yet under the dynamic leadership of the Vice Chancellor, the university has achieved remarkable milestones not only in academic, administrative and financial activities also in observing various national days and sports and cultural activities. The university authority has already planned to construct infrastructure for secured campus with modern educational facilities and high standard research environment surrounded by natural beauty.

Satkhira University of Science and Technology, commonly known and abbreviated as SatSTU, is a public university in Satkhira. It is 2nd Science technology university in Khulna division. It was established by Bangladesh National Parliament through Satkhira University of Science And Technology act 2023.
