Pitchfork & Lost Needles is a Clutch compilation album, released in 2005, of previous EPs by the band, with some demos and session outtakes.
The album is a mix of original EPs from the early 1990s, being; the 4 track debut EP Pitchfork in 1991; the 3 track EP Passive Restraints in 1992. Tracks 1-4 are from the first EP, reissued here for the first time since 1991. Track 5, "Nero's Fiddle", is an early incarnation of "High Caliber Consecrator" from the EP Passive Restraints and which track 6 is the demo version of. Track 7 & 8 are the demo versions from the debut full-length album Transnational Speedway League and tracks 9 & 10 are from the Robot Hive/Exodus sessions in 2005 with Mick Schauer still in the band playing organ. Belle and Sebastian are a Scottish indie pop band formed in Glasgow in 1996. Led by Stuart Murdoch, the band has released twelve studio albums. They are often compared with acts such as the Smiths and Nick Drake. The band took their name from the 1965 television series Belle and Sebastian. Though consistently lauded by critics, Belle and Sebastian's "wistful pop" has enjoyed only limited commercial success.

The Reatards were an American garage punk band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1995. Originally a one-man project by guitarist Jay Reatard, the group's sound was marked by raw, stripped-down instrumentals and lo-fi recording quality. After distributing privately pressed cassettes and EPs, most notably Fuck Elvis, Here's the Reatards, the band released their debut album Teenage Hate in 1998, followed by Grown Up, Fucked Up a year later. By 1999, the group only sporadically performed as Reatard began exploring other endeavors, but in 2005 he reformed the band for their third and final studio album. Much of the Reatards' discography remains a subject of interest, leading to reissues of their work years later.
