Pittampally is a village in Chityal mandal in Nalgonda district, Andhra Pradesh, India. [1] It is located to the west of the village of Chityal along National Highway 9. The population of the village is about 1,500. The soil is red and black, and the main source of living is agriculture. Paddy, sunflower, tobacco, vegetables, dairy and horticulture are grown.

The Pranahita River is itself a confluence of various smaller tributaries including the Wardha, Painganga, and Wainganga rivers which combine to form the seventh-largest drainage basin on the subcontinent, with an estimated annual discharge of more than 6,427,900 acre feet or 280 TMC. It remains untapped as its course is principally through dense forests and other ecologically sensitive zones such as wildlife sanctuaries.
