The Pivnich (North) operational-strategic group is a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces in Ukraine active in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The operational group is under the command of Joint Forces commander Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev.

Ihor Yosypovych Tenyukh is a former Ukrainian admiral and member of the nationalist Svoboda political party. He was the commander of the Ukrainian Navy from 2006 until 2010 when dismissed by Viktor Yanukovych. Tenyukh fully supported the 2013–2014 uprising, and was appointed Minister of Defense of Ukraine in February 2014. After and because of accusations of indecision in the face of the Russian invasion of Crimea, he resigned on 25 March 2014.

Mykhailo Mykolayovych Kutsyn is a former Chief of the General Staff and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was appointed Chief of the General Staff by acting president Oleksandr Turchynov on 28 February 2014. Kutsyn was relieved of this post by president Petro Poroshenko on 3 July 2014. Poroshenko thanked Kutsyn for his service and stated he had been shell-shocked on 2 July 2014 while combating the 2014 insurgency in Donbass. He had suffered a concussion and was recovering at a hospital.

The Khortytsia operational-strategic group is a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces in Ukraine active in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Khortytsia operational-strategic group is led by Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, who also serves as the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On January 19, Colonel General Syrskyi was part of a staff meeting alongside numerous commanders and important government leaders alongside President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. President Zelenskyy noted in the meeting that the Khortytsia group was deployed in the "hottest" part of the front line.

Major General Ihor Vasylovych Fedorov, is a Ukrainian soldier, who is the First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Fedorov had been the Chief of Staff - first deputy commander of the Operational Command South, and had been the acting commander of the military district in 2012.

The Odesa operational-strategic group is a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces in Ukraine active in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The operational group is under the command of JFO Major General Eduard Moskalyov.
