Piya Sengupta (born in Kolkata, India) is an Indian actress and producer. [4] She is known for her work in Bengali cinema. [3] She is the daughter of Sukhen Das and mother of Bonny Sengupta. [3] [5]

As an actress, she made her debut opposite Prosenjit Chatterjee in Sujit Guha's Dadamoni (1984). [6] She rose to prominence for her role opposite Joy Banerjee in Milan Tithi (1985) directed by Sukhen Das. Even though the film was a massive success at the box office, she did not achieve any further significant feat in her career. [3]

Family and early life

Her father was famous actor/director late Sukhen Das. Piya married director Anup Sengupta. Bonny Sengupta is their son, who is also an actor. She completed her schooling from Kamala Girls School, then graduated from Jogomaya Devi college, Kolkata.

Basabdatta Chatterjee is a Bengali actress who mainly works in Bengali television serials. She made her debut in the popular soap Gaaner Oparey directed by Rituparno Ghosh. She rose to fame by acting in the lead female role in the comedy soap Boyei Gelo, which aired on Zee Bangla. But later, due to other engagements, she stopped acting in the serial. Boyei Gelo was Basabdatta's seventh work. Subsequently, she worked in a daily soap Mon Niye Kachakachi on Star Jalsha, where she acted the role of Dr. Labanya Sanyal Kapoor. Lokesh Ghosh is an Indian Bengali actor who is known for his work in Bengali cinema. Ghosh was born and brought up in Mumbai. He began his acting career doing small roles in Bollywood. Ghosh got his break through in the Bengali film industry with Anjan Choudhury's 1996 political drama Mukhyamantri, where he played the role of Ashok, the momentarily spoilt son of the protagonist Bimal Chowdhury. He was simultaneously cast in Choudhury's other venture of the year Nach Nagini Nach Re where he played the role of Rajat opposite Anjan Choudhury's daughter Chumki Chowdhury. With the massive success of both films, Ghosh became a frequent face in Choudhury's movies like Boro Bou (1997), Sriman Bhootnath (1997), Jiban Niye Khela (1999), Gunda (1999), Rakhi Purnima (2001) and so on.
