Tiong Bahru is a housing estate and subzone region located within Bukit Merah planning area, in the Central Region of Singapore. Tiong Bahru was constructed in the 1920s by the Singapore Improvement Trust, the predecessor to the Housing Development Board (HDB) and an entity of the British colonial authority providing mass public housing in Singapore and is the oldest housing estate in Singapore.
The Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall, also known as Wan Qing Yuan, and formerly as the Sun Yat Sen Villa, is a two-story colonial style villa in Balestier, Singapore. The villa is now a museum commemorating Sun Yat Sen (1866–1925), the founding father of the Republic of China who visited Singapore nine times between 1900 and 1911.

Ong Poh Lim was a Malayan/Singaporean badminton player who had won numerous national and international titles from the late 1940s to the early 1960s. Known for his quickness and his aggressive, unorthodox playing style, Ong won many singles and doubles titles, including the All-England, Danish, French, Malayan, Singapore and Thomas Cup championships in the 1940s and 1950s. He also invented the backhand flick serve known as the “crocodile serve”, a tactic that had been routinely used in the modern game. Ong was a keen rival to badminton legend Wong Peng Soon.
Kallang Roar the Movie is a 2008 sports film on Singapore national football team’s legendary coach Choo Seng Quee. The film shows the events leading up to Singapore winning the Malaysia Cup in 1977, including the epic semi-final match against Selangor and the final against Penang.
If We Dream Too Long is a novel written by Singaporean writer Goh Poh Seng. This debut novel was completed in 1968 though it was first published in 1972 by Singapore's Island Press, a press formed by Goh to self-publish his first novel. It was republished by Heinemann in 1994 under the Writing in Asia Series and NUS Press in 2010 under the Ridge Books imprint. The book won the National Book Development Council of Singapore's Fiction Book Award in 1976. It is often hailed as the first true Singaporean novel.
Dipna Lim Prasad is a Singaporean sprinter and hurdler. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's 100 metres hurdles. Dipna specialises in the 100 metres hurdles but also competes in the 100 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres hurdles, 4x100 metres relay, and 4 x 400 metres relay.
Chng Seng Mok was a Singaporean sports shooter. He competed in the mixed trap event at the 1992 Summer Olympics.
Joseph Koh Seng Leong is a Singaporean former sailor, who specialized in the Laser and 470 classes. He represented Singapore across two editions of the Summer Olympic Games, finishing outside the top twenty-five each in two separate boats, respectively. Outside Olympic career, Koh collected a total of two medals in a continental regatta, spanning the 2006 Asian Games in Doha and the 2007 Southeast Asian Games in Nakhon Ratchasima. Koh trained throughout his sporting career at SAF Yachting Club in Changi, under the tutelage of his personal coach Brett Beyer, a six-time Laser Apprentice Master world champion from Australia.
Joan Poh is a Singaporean rower. She competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Tan Seng Poh, was a chairman of the Singapore Municipal Committee, a Justice of the Peace and an honorary magistrate.
