"Poke It Out" is a song written and performed by American rapper Wale featuring fellow American rapper J. Cole. It was released on September 30,2021,as the third single from Wale's seventh studio album Folarin II (2021). The song was produced by Cool &Dre and samples "Vivrant Thing" by Q-Tip.
Over the electric bass sample,Wale raps the chorus and first verse,about his relationship with women ("I just wanna see if you gon' lie or you gon' love me / I was gettin' broads way before I got the money,honey"). [1] [2] In the second verse,J. Cole celebrates his reunion with Wale ("Cole World and Folarin co-starrin' / We both flexin',Bo Jacksons,bogartin'"),also rapping about the attention he receives from women and being the "franchise player". The official music video was released alongside the song. In it,Wale drives a red Jeep with a group of women. A beach run scene from the video for "Vivrant Thing" is recreated,when Wale and the female models end up at a lakeside campsite,where the women play football and dance and Wale hosts a bonfire. "Vivrant Thing" is the first single released by Q-Tip on his debut solo album Amplified. It was produced by Q-Tip himself,and is credited as such in the liner notes of Violator:The Album,A Tribe Called Quest's compilation The Anthology,and the 12-inch vinyl/CD single. Jay Dee is only credited in the liner notes of Amplified,as they were considered a production duo solely for that album. "Vivrant Thing" became the fourth rap song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot R&B Airplay chart since its 1992 inception. The single also reached number seven on the main Hot R&B Singles &Tracks chart,with its performance being driven overwhelmingly by airplay due to its lack of domestic availability in any configuration besides 12-inch vinyl.

He first gained recognition in 2006,when his song "Dig Dug " became popular in his hometown,leading Wale to became locally recognized as he continued recording music for the regional audience.
