The Polestar Precept is a 4-door electric concept car by Polestar, a subsidiary of Volvo Cars and Geely. The Precept was unveiled on February 25, 2020. Prior to precautionary cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Precept was scheduled to debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. [1] Polestar later announced that the Precept will enter production in 2024 as the Polestar 5. [2]

Design

The Precept has a wheelbase of 122 inches and lacks B-pillars. [3] Its design focuses on sustainability, with the interior materials utilizing flax, recycled plastic bottles, and recycled cork vinyl; [3] minimalism and athleticism are also focuses of the design. [4]

Lidar is incorporated into the roof, [1] [3] [4] and there is an additional sensor array called the "SmartZone" of dual radar and a high-definition video camera built into the front of the car in place of a grille. [1] [3] The side and rear-view mirrors have all been replaced with cameras. [1] [3] The Precept runs Google's Android Automotive operating system. [3] [4]

The Polestar 1 is a 2-door plug-in hybrid sports car marketed by Polestar, a brand of Volvo Cars. It was the first car produced by the company since becoming an independent car manufacturer in June 2017. Based on Volvo's Concept Coupé from 2013, the Polestar 1 is built on the Volvo Scalable Product Architecture platform and is powered by a hybrid powertrain, using a front-mounted engine and two electric motors at the rear. A limited production run of 1,500 cars took place over three years, from 2019 to 2022, for the left-hand drive market only. Production took place in Chengdu, China, where the company's first production facility was built.

The Sony Vision-S is an all-electric automobile platform that was developed by Sony, with the first model unveiled at the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas as the Vision-S Concept.
