The University of the Philippines Diliman, also referred to as UPD, UP Diliman, or simply University of the Philippines or UP, is a public, coeducational, research university located in Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines. It was established on February 12, 1949, as the flagship campus and seat of administration of the University of the Philippines System, the national university of the Philippines.
The University of the Philippines Rural High School was established as a subsidiary of the Department of Agricultural Education of the University of the Philippines College of Agriculture, pursuant to Sec.4 of Act 3377 of the Philippine Legislature which was approved on December 3, 1927. The school, with a vocational curriculum, served as a practice school for the training of teachers, provided secondary education in agriculture for those preparing for college, and trained intermediate school graduates in agriculture.
Bienvenido F. NebresS.J. is a Filipino scientist, mathematician, and a Jesuit priest who was the longest-serving university president of the Ateneo de Manila University. He succeeded Joaquin G. Bernas in 1993, and served as University President until 1 June 2011. Cheryl Elisabeth Praeger is an Australian mathematician. Praeger received BSc (1969) and MSc degrees from the University of Queensland (1974), and a doctorate from the University of Oxford in 1973 under direction of Peter M. Neumann. She has published widely and has advised 27 PhD students. She is currently Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at the University of Western Australia. She is best known for her works in group theory, algebraic graph theory and combinatorial designs.
Karina Constantino David was a Filipino activist, public servant, and musician best known for being a former chairperson of the Civil Service Commission of the Philippines, and for her opposition to the Martial Law dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos as part of the activist duo "Inang Laya". She also served as the chairperson of the Career Executive Service Board, a government entity supervising the top management personnel of the Philippine government. She was a member of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Board of Trustees.

Onofre Dizon Corpuz ONS was a Filipino academic, economist, and historian. He served as the Secretary of Education of the Philippines from 1968 to 1971 and was the 13th president of the University of the Philippines System from 1975 to 1979. Dr. Corpuz was later named Minister of Education under the parliamentary system wherein he was also member of the now defunct Batasang Pambansa from 1979 to 1983.

Fortunato "Boy" Tanseco de la Peña is a Filipino engineer and professor who served as the Secretary of Science and Technology in the Cabinet of President Rodrigo Duterte from 2016 to 2022. Hajnal Ilona Andréka is a Hungarian mathematician specializing in algebraic logic. She is a research professor emeritus at the Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
