Polona Zupan (born 9 March 1976) is a Slovenian snowboarder. She competed in the women's giant slalom event at the 1998 Winter Olympics. [1]

Cape Verde competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. Their participation marked their fourth Olympic appearance. Two Cape Verdeans competed in the Olympic games: Nelson Cruz participated as a marathon runner, and Wania Monteiro participated in gymnastics. Another athlete, Lenira Santos, was selected to compete in athletics but was forced to pull out due to injury. Monteiro was selected as the flag bearer for both the opening and closing ceremonies. Polona Batagelj is a Slovenian former road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2010 and 2018 for the Diadora–Pasta Zara, Bizkaia–Durango and BTC City Ljubljana squads. She most recently worked as a directeur sportif for her final professional team, UCI Women's Team BTC City Ljubljana. She won the Slovenian National Road Race Championships nine times, successively between 2010 and 2018.

Teja Zupan is a Slovenian swimmer, who specialized in open water marathon. Zupan qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, after placing tenth in the 10 km Marathon Swimming Olympic test event at Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park. Zupan swam in the first-ever women's 10 km open water marathon, against a field of 24 other competitors, including South African amputee swimmer Natalie du Toit, British duo Keri-Anne Payne and Cassandra Patten, and sixteen-year-old American Chloe Sutton. Zupan finished the race in twelfth place, with a total time of 1:59:43.7, sixteen seconds behind winner Larisa Ilchenko of Russia.
