Kaazhcha (transl. Vision) is a 2004 Indian Malayalam-language family-drama film written and directed by Blessy, in his directorial debut. The story revolves around the boy Pavan who reaches Kerala after he loses everything in the 2001 Gujarat earthquake. Film projectionist Madhavan (Mammootty) happens to meet the boy and takes him with him. The film was reported to be inspired by the 1986 Iranian film Bashu, the Little Stranger. The film won three Filmfare Awards South, including the debut of actress Padmapriya.
Ponkunnam is a census town in Kerala, India, part of Kottayam district under Kanjirappally taluk. Ponkunnam literally means golden mountain (ponn = gold, kunn = mountain). Nearby towns are Kanjirappalli, Pampady, Manimala and Pala. This part of Kerala is famous for its fertile land and rubber plantations. It is at an altitude of 495 ft (151 m) above mean sea level. Olappamanna Mana is a heritage building, the ancestral home of a Nambuthiri family by name, Olappammanna. The building, an Ettukettu, constructed in Kerala architectural style, is situated in Vellinezhi, a village on the banks of Kunthipuzha River, in Cherpulassery of Palakkad district in the south Indian state of Kerala. The building is around 24 km from Ottapalam railway station and the nearest airport is Calicut International Airport which is 57 km away.

The origin of Malayalam drama can be traced back to various performing arts of Kerala such as Kathakali. Drama, as is understood now, is a borrowed art form in Kerala and started with the publication of the Malayalam translation of Abhijnana Shakuntalam in 1882. The field of Malayalam theatre and drama became active by the end of the 19th century. It played an active role in the early-20th-century Kerala reform movement.
