"Pop the Glock" is a single by French-American recording artist Uffie. The re-released single was released as a 12" vinyl on November 30, 2009. "Pop the Glock" was Uffie's first single and an international underground hit. It was originally released in early 2006 by Ed Banger Records on the Pop the Glock/Ready to Uff EP.
The original release gained Uffie attention from the media, fans and critics alike and landed her a record deal with French electronic label Ed Banger Records. "Pop the Glock" was written by Uffie and produced by Feadz, and is in large-part based both lyrically and musically on Audio Two's "Top Billin".
"Pop the Glock" was re-released as an EP on November 30, 2009 as a promotional tool for her debut album Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans (2010), where it was ultimately included. The release also included three remixes of "Pop the Glock" by producers Mirwais (who collaborated with Uffie on her upcoming album), Felix da Housecat and Ellen Allien. Mirwais Ahmadzaï, known mononymously as Mirwais, is a French electronic dance music record producer and songwriter. Born in Switzerland to an Afghan father and an Italian mother, Ahmadzaï was a member of the defunct 1980s group Taxi Girl. He met Madonna in the late 1990s, when he submitted a demo to her then record label, Maverick Records.
Felix da Housecat is an American DJ and record producer, mostly known for house music and electro. Felix is regarded as a member of the second wave of Chicago house.
Ellen Fraatz, known professionally as Ellen Allien, is a German electronic musician, music producer, and the founder of BPitch Control music label. Her album Stadtkind was dedicated to the city of Berlin, and she cites the culture of reunified Berlin as one of the main inspirations for her music. She sings in both German and English. Her music is best described as a blend of IDM and Techno music, which is dance-floor oriented and has noticeable experimental elements. She lives in Berlin and calls it the "best city in the world."

Open Your Box is a remix album by Yoko Ono which was released on April 24, 2007. It is a compilation of her successful series of remix singles released since 2001 with the addition of several new mixes. Collaborators include Basement Jaxx, Felix da Housecat and the Pet Shop Boys. "You're the One" was released as a single and reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart in the United States. Ono achieved a number one on the Hot Dance Club Play chart in August 2008 with "Give Peace a Chance".

"Pop the Glock" started out as a Myspace demo and ended up gaining Uffie international fame. Uffie recorded "Pop the Glock" in 2005 when she was only 17 years old and after showing it to Busy P, owner of French electronic label Ed Banger Records she was offered a record deal. "Pop the Glock" was written by Uffie and produced by Feadz and samples the beat and lyrics from Top Billin' by 1980s hip-hop duo Audio Two. "Ready to Uff", written by Uffie and Feadz, while produced by Mr. Oizo was included as the B-side to the release and was also released as a successful single later on.

Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans is the debut studio album by French-American singer Uffie. It was released on June 14, 2010, by Ed Banger Records and Because Music. Produced by Feadz, J-Mat, Mr. Oizo, Mirwais and Sebastian, the album features guest appearances by Pharrell Williams and Mattie Safer of The Rapture, includes an "adaptation" of The Velvet Underground's "Rock & Roll" and a cover of Siouxsie and the Banshees' "Hong Kong Garden", which Uffie cited as one of her favorite songs.
