Pope Air Force Base Historic District is a national historic district located at Fayetteville, Cumberland County, North Carolina. It encompasses 32 contributing buildings on the grounds of Pope Air Force Base. They were built in 1933-1934 during the first base expansion and include single administrative buildings and dwellings with associated outbuildings. Notable buildings include the three-story, Georgian Revival style Fleming Hall; the Old Fire Station; and 21 Old Family Housing Units. [2]

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. [1]

The Pope House Museum, built in 1901, is a restored home once owned by Dr. M. T. Pope, a prominent African-American citizen of Raleigh, North Carolina. The Pope House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999, It was an official project of the Save America’s Treasures Program and the city of Raleigh took over management of it, offering tours for the first time.

Estey Hall United States historic place

Estey Hall is a historic building on the campus of Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was the second building constructed for the higher education of African-American women in the United States. Built in 1873, Estey Hall is the oldest surviving building at Shaw, which is the second oldest historically black college in the South and was the second institution of higher learning established for freedmen after the Civil War. The building, originally known as "Estey Seminary," was named in honor of Jacob Estey, the largest donor to the construction project. Estey Hall, located in the East Raleigh-South Park Historic District, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 and is a Raleigh Historic Landmark.

Halifax Historic District United States historic place

Halifax Historic District is a national historic district located at Halifax, Halifax County, North Carolina, US that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 with an increase in 2011. It includes several buildings that are individually listed on the National Register. Halifax was the site of the signing of the Halifax Resolves on April 12, 1776, a set of resolutions of the North Carolina Provincial Congress which led to the United States Declaration of Independence gaining the support of North Carolina's delegates to the Second Continental Congress in that year.

It was built in 1934, and has a double-bay metal superstructure resting on a concrete foundation and floor. It is of bowstring truss construction. The building measures 333 feet, 6 inches, by 124 feet.

Main Street Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Hamlet, Richmond County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 23 contributing buildings, 3 contributing structures, and 1 contributing object in the central business district of Hamlet. It includes buildings built between about 1900 to about 1940 and notable examples of Queen Anne, Art Deco, and Classical Revival architecture. Located in the district is the separately listed Seaboard Air Line Passenger Depot. Other notable buildings include the Terminal Hotel, Union Building, the Bank of Hamlet (1912), the Old Hamlet Opera House, and the U.S. Post Office (1940), a Works Progress Administration project.
