The Old North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company Building, also known as the Mechanics and Farmers Bank Building, is an office building at 114-116 West Parrish Street in downtown Durham, North Carolina. It formerly served as the headquarters for the North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company, one of the nation's largest companies founded and owned by African-Americans. The building was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1975.
The Playmakers Theatre, originally Smith Hall, is a historic academic building on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Built in 1850, it was designated a National Historic Landmark for its architecture, as an important example of Greek Revival architecture by Alexander Jackson Davis. It is now a secondary venue of the performing company, which is principally located at the Paul Green Theatre.
Saint Mary's School is a private independent Episcopal college-preparatory, boarding and day school for girls in grades 9–12. Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, Saint Mary's School operates as an independent school with a historic association with the Episcopal Church including an Episcopal chapel, St. Mary's Chapel, on the school's grounds. The school formerly operated as Saint Mary's College and for many decades educated young women in grades 11–12 and their freshman and sophomore years in college. The school changed to a four year high school in 1998, at which point the name reverted to Saint Mary's School, the original name of the institution when it was founded in 1842.
Hillsborough Historic District is a national historic district located at Hillsborough, Orange County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 529 contributing buildings, 9 contributing sites, 13 contributing structures, and 2 contributing objects in the central business district and surrounding residential sections of Hillsborough. The district includes buildings dating to the late-18th and early-20th century and includes notable examples of Federal, Greek Revival, and Italianate style architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed Burwell School, Eagle Lodge, Hazel-Nash House, Heartsease, Montrose, Nash Law Office, Nash-Hooper House, Old Orange County Courthouse, Ruffin-Roulhac House, Sans Souci, and St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and Churchyard. Other notable buildings include Seven Hearths, the Presbyterian Church (1815-1816), Methodist Church (1859-1860), First Baptist Church (1862-1870), Twin Chimneys, and the Berry Brick House.

St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and Churchyard is a historic Episcopal church located on St. Mary's Road, Hillsborough, Orange County, North Carolina. The first three bays of the Gothic Revival-style brick church were built between 1825–1826, and its rear was extended by another bay in 1868. It features a square entrance tower built in 1830, which was rebuilt in 1850. The tower has a pyramidal spire and lancet windows.
Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church is a historic rural African-American Primitive Baptist church located near Brogden, Johnston County, North Carolina. It was built about 1920, and is a vernacular one-story, gable-front, three-bay, light timber frame building. The building was also used as a one-room school until the early 1930s. Also on the property is a contributing church cemetery with burials dating from the 1910 to 1987.
Genergal George G. Meade School is a historic elementary/middle school located in the North Central neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is part of the School District of Philadelphia. The building was designed by Irwin T. Catharine and built in 1936. It is a three-story, 11 bay, yellow brick building in a Moderne-style. It has a four-story, five bay addition. It features rounded corners, ribbon bands of windows, and low relief Greek figures. It was named for General George Meade (1815–1872).
Frances E. Willard School is an elementary school located in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is part of the School District of Philadelphia. The school is named for suffragist Frances Willard.
George W. Childs School is a historic school building located in the Point Breeze neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1893–1894, and is a three-story, three bay, brick building with brownstone trim in the Classical Revival-style. A three-story, nine bay yellow brick addition was built in 1928. It features a stone arched entrance, Palladian window, and copper cornice.
Darlington Industrial Historic District is a national historic district located at Darlington, Darlington County, South Carolina. The district encompasses 12 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure in an industrial section of Darlington. They were built between about 1890 and 1925. All of these buildings are located along the rights-of-way of the South Carolina Western Railway and the Charleston, Sumter and Northern Railroad since the industries each of these buildings served employed the services of the railroad. Among the prominent resources in the district are the Charleston, Sumter and Northern Railway Freight Station (1891), the Darlington Roller Mill (1899), Thomas and Howard Tobacco Warehouse ; and Price's Tobacco Warehouse, and a cotton warehouse.
Dallas Graded and High School, also known as the Church Street School, is a historic school building located at Dallas, Gaston County, North Carolina. The main school building was built in 1923–1924, and is a two-story, seven bay, "T"-plan Classical Revival style red brick school. It has a flat roof with parapet and features a three-bay porticoed entry pavilion. It has an eight classroom addition built in 1951.
Sans Souci is a historic home located at Hillsborough, Orange County, North Carolina. It was built about 1813, as two-story, three bay, frame dwelling with a gable roof and set on a brick foundation. Later additions included 1 1/2-story flanking wings added in the Federal period and a Greek Revival shed addition built in the mid-19th century across the rear of the main block and the east wing. Also on the property are the contributing kitchen, office, and servant's quarters.
Hazel-Nash House, also known as the Hasell-Nash House, is a historic home located at Hillsborough, Orange County, North Carolina. It was built about 1820, and consists of a two-story, three bay, pedimented central block flanked by a pair of pedimented single-story wings. The front facade features a single-story porch supported by Ionic order columns and a central Palladian window. Its design is probably based on Robert Morris (1703–1754) plate 37 of his Rural Architecture..
Heartsease is a historic home located at Hillsborough, Orange County, North Carolina. It was built about 1770, and consists of a 1 1/2-story, three-bay, central block dating to the late 18th century, with an early 19th-century 1 1/2-story east wing, and two-story pedimented west wing added in the late 19th century. It is topped by a gable roof and features a shed porch whose roof supported by plain Tuscan order posts. It is believed that Heartsease served as the pre-Revolutionary home of Thomas Burke, North Carolina's third governor and a member of the Constitutional Convention.
Ruffin-Roulhac House, also known as Little Hawfields, is a historic home located at Hillsborough, Orange County, North Carolina. It was built about 1820, and is a 1 1/2-story, five bay, frame dwelling including a two-room addition built about 1830. It is topped by a gable roof, is sheathed in weatherboard, and has a one-bay 20th century replacement porch. The interior has Federal, Greek Revival, and Victorian style design elements. It was the home of jurist Thomas Ruffin (1787–1870) from after the end of the American Civil War until his death in 1870.
Moorefields is a historic home located near Hillsborough, Orange County, North Carolina. It was built about 1785, and consists of a two-story central block, three bays wide, with flanking one-bay wings in the Federal style. The house features a shed porch with turned wooden posts. It was built by soldier and judge Alfred Moore (1755-1810).
Eagle Lodge is a historic Masonic lodge building located at Hillsborough, Orange County, North Carolina. It was built in 1823, and two-story, three bay, square brick building in the Greek Revival style. It has a low hipped roof with heavy box cornice and a one-story pedimented porch with Ionic order columns.
Mahler and Carolina Trust Buildings, also known as McLellan's Dime Store and McCrory's Dime Store, are two historic commercial buildings located at Raleigh, North Carolina. The Mahler Building was built in 1876, and the Carolina Trust Building was built in 1902. They were consolidated as McLellan's Dime Store about 1933. A two-story annex was added to the building in 1952. The Mahler Building is a three-story, three bay, Renaissance Revival style brick building with round arched windows. The Carolina Trust Building is a four-story, three bay, Classical Revival style brick building. The annex is a two-story, seven bay, addition with Art Moderne design elements.
