Popstars is a French musical reality TV series based on the international series of the same name. The French television series was broadcast on M6 for 4 seasons and was a pioneer in musical competitions in France. It is currently broadcast on D8.

The first season of French Popstars was launched on 20 September 2001 and continued until 20 December 2001 won by L5, followed by a second season 2002 won by Whatfor, a third season in 2004 (known as Popstars - le duel) won by Linkup, and a fourth season after 4 years of interruption, held in 2007 and won by Sheryfa Luna.

The first season was to launch pop groups from casting to the launch of a debut album, whereas series 4 was for launching of a solo artist. Genres of music presented ranged form pop to rock, R&B, rap and hip hop. Contrary to other competitions, eliminations were decided by a jury and not by the public.

The show is due to return in 2024 on Amazon Prime Video. [1]

Popstars: Du & Ich is the eight season of Popstars, in which young aspiring singers compete in order to claim their spots to become the duo "Some & Any". This is the format for the second season of the Popstars series, focusing mostly on dancers/singers, looking for fame in the music industry. It premiered on 20 August 2009. The final combination which genders the band consisted of was open until the finals. The candidates applied alone or together, but if they applied together it was unsure if both would survive the elimination. The judge panel changed. The Final on 10 December was won by 18-year-old Vanessa Meisinger and the Brazilian 20-year-old Leonardo "Leo" Ritzmann. They were the new Popstars duo Some & Any.

Twem are a French pop duo made up of French-Moroccan identical twins Samir and Mehdi Ben Nouh. They are known for appearances in a number of talent competitions including Graines de Stars, Popstars and X Factor programs in both UK in 2010 and France 2011.

The fifth season of the French version of Dancing with the Stars premiered on TF1 on September 27, 2014, almost one year to the day after the fourth season. This time, 11 celebrities were paired with 11 professional ballroom dancers, more than the 10 of the previous two seasons. Quick Style or The Quick Style and also known as the Quick Crew, is a Norwegian hip-hop/urban dance group founded by two Norwegian-Pakistani twins, Suleman and Bilal Malik, and their Norwegian-Thai childhood friend Nasir Sirikhan. The group is notable for having won Norske Talenter, the Norwegian edition of the Got Talent franchise, in 2009. They have also participated in NBC's World of Dance and other dance competitions.
