Porgy is the second studio album by the American band When People Were Shorter and Lived Near the Water, released in 1991 by Shimmy Disc. [1] [2] It contains covers of songs from Porgy and Bess . [3]
Trouser Press called the album "a well-informed piece of work, not simply a cheap parody." [4] The New York Times wrote that the band "specializes in satire ... When People Were Shorter isn't smug; this group's love of bad taste seemed honest and heartfelt." [5]
All lyrics are written by Ira Gershwin and DuBose Heyward; all music is composed by George Gershwin.

Porgy and Bess is an English-language opera by American composer George Gershwin, with a libretto written by author DuBose Heyward and lyricist Ira Gershwin. It was adapted from Dorothy Heyward and DuBose Heyward's play Porgy, itself an adaptation of DuBose Heyward's 1925 novel of the same name.

Mystical Shit is the third studio album by experimental music band King Missile, released in 1990 by Shimmy Disc. It is the first of their albums to be recorded after guitarist Dave Rick and bassist Chris Xefos had joined and composer Stephen Tunney had departed the group to form Dogbowl. The album was first issued on vinyl record in 1990 and was later included on the compilation album Mystical Shit & Fluting on the Hump.
