Portugal competed at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was the nation's fourth appearance at the Olympics, after debuting in 1912.

A delegation of thirty one competitors participated in eight sports, [1] with the fencing team grabbing the second Olympic medal for Portugal. Most of the competitors were part of the debutant Portuguese Olympic football team.
