Portugal competed at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, England. A delegation of forty eight competitors participated in eight sports, with an equestrian and sailing teams winning both a bronze and Portugal's first Olympic silver medal, respectively. [1] This was also the first Olympics where this nation won more than one medal.

Brazil competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. 182 competitors, 132 men and 50 women, took part in 107 events in 23 sports. Brazilian Team has conquered only 3 medals in Barcelona. It was the lowest number since Montreal 1976, but unlike Montreal, two of the three medals were gold and this is also until the date of the games the best result of the country, as the Barcelona Games was the first without boycotts since the Mexico City games in 1968.

It was directed by Ana Paula Guimarães, Diego Morais, and Tila Teixeira, with the general direction of Jorge Fernando and Marcelo Zambelli and the artistic direction of Jorge Fernando. Verão 90 features Isabelle Drummond, Rafael Vitti, Jesuíta Barbosa, Cláudia Raia, Dira Paes, Klebber Toledo, Humberto Martins, and Camila Queiroz in the main roles.
