Pradip Bhattacharya (born 24 January 1945) is an Indian politician. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha from the state of West Bengal. He is a leader of the Indian National Congress. [1]
He had studied B.A. with honors at SURI Vidyasagar College,M.A. at Burdwan University in West Bengal. Earlier he had studied at Itagoria High School. [2]
Manik Bandyopadhyay [alias Banerjee] is an Indian author regarded as one of the major figures of 20th century Bengali literature. During a lifespan of 48 years and 28 years of literary career,battling with epilepsy from the age of around 28 and financial strains all along,he produced some masterpieces of novels and short stories,besides some poems,essays etc. One of the early neo-realist film shot in Pakistan,The Day Shall Dawn is based on his story.

Mohammed Salim is an Indian politician,who is the incumbent State Secretary in West Bengal of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). Rakhal Das Banerji,also Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay,was an Indian archaeologist and an officer of the Archeological Survey of India (ASI). In 1919,he became the second ASI officer deputed to survey the site of Mohenjo-daro and returned there in the 1922-23 season. He was the first person to propose the remote antiquity of the site—which he did in a letter to Marshall in 1923—and in effect of the Harappan culture. After leaving the ASI,he held the Manindra Chandra Nandy professorship of Ancient Indian History and Culture at the Banaras Hindu University from 1928 until his premature death in 1930.

R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital (RGKMCH) is a Public hospital in Kolkata,West Bengal,India which started as Asia's first private medical college. It was established in 1886 to ensure self-sufficiency in medical education and services in the colonial era. On May 12,1958,the West Bengal Government assumed management of the establishment. It was under the University of Calcutta from 1916 to 2003 and affiliated to West Bengal University of Health Sciences when it was established in 2003. A professor at the Indian Statistical Institute,Kolkata,she is a Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize winner in Engineering Science for 2010,IInfosys Prize 2017 laureate in the Engineering and Computer Science category and TWAS Prize winner for Engineering Sciences in 2018. Her research is mainly in the areas of evolutionary computation,pattern recognition,machine learning and bioinformatics. Since 1 August 2015,she has been the Director of the Indian Statistical Institute,and she would oversee the functioning of all five centres of Indian Statistical Institute located at Kolkata,Bangalore,Delhi,Chennai,and Tezpur besides several other Statistical Quality Control &Operation Research Units spread across India. She is the first woman Director of the Indian Statistical Institute. Currently she is on the Prime Ministers' Science,Technology and Innovation Advisory Council. In 2022 she was given the Padma Shri award for Science and Engineering by the Government of India.

He is also a Senior Member of the IEEE,has been awarded a Swarnajayanti Fellowship for Chemical Sciences,and has held a Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellowship. He is the third Indian to be awarded the International Commission for Optics Galileo Galilei Medal for excellence in optics.
