Pradip Kumar Varma (24 February 1972)is an Indian politician and a member of the Rajya Sabha from Jharkhand. [1] Varma serving as the State General Secretary BJP Jharkhand unit from 2020 onwards. Erstwhile he served as State Vice President BJP Jharkhand in 2016 and state minister BJP Jharkhand in 2013.Earlier he served as BJP membership-in-charge,Khijri division of Ranchi.
Varma was the BJP's election in-charge for India's tribal state of Jharkhand,during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP and its Coalition partner NDA won 12 out of 14 seats. As a result,Varma rose to state prominence and was appointed as the Party's State General Secretary in 2019. He has played an organising and membership-promotional role in the elections of many states since 2019. In his initial two years,the BJP achieved success in state legislative assembly in Jharkhand where it won the Dhanbad,Nirsa,Baghmara and Sindri but lost ground in Jharia and tundi in 2019.
Varma is also a 2nd year OTC trained Swayamsevak from (RSS) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and also served as a Joint secretary in Seva Bharti (Prantiya toli ) at zonal level.

Varma being the founder and Chief executive Officer of Sarla Birla University (SBU) promoted the sports and activity culture. He is now serving as the chairman of Jharkhand Wushu Association (which is the most medal winning association of Jharkhand). He is also the chairman of the Jharkhand state chess association. Varma is also chief patron of Chotanagpur Sarna Samiti (constituted in 147 panchayat blocks of Ranchi district).Varma is also a chief patron of Akhil bhartiya Vaishya Mahasammelan Jharkhand Pradesh.
EARLY EDUCATION
Pradip Varma was born on 24th February 1972 in Kolkata capital city of West Bengal into a Hindu Vaishya family but he is ancestral native of tehsil Barwadih in Latehar district of Jharkhand. His ancestors migrated from Latehar district of Jharkhand to Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh in the pursuit of business and livelihood.
Parents of pradip kumar varma Varma started his primary education at Subhas Vidya Mandir Muraripukur Kolkata. Later on for further studies he shifted to Sarvodaya School Muchipara in kolkata. From childhood he was interested in playing chess at the age of 12 and was a state level chess player.Varma also played cricket for the team Mohan Bagan at the age of 15.
He has done his intermediate in commerce stream in 1988 and undergraduate in commerce,B.Com from Seth Anand Ram Jaipuriya college of Calcutta University in 1991.He passed his executive MBA from Vinayaka Mission,and master’s degree of M.A (Hindi) from the same. Later he has done his completed his doctorate Phd. in Hindi language and literature. Apart from Hindi language,Varma is a polyglot person having full proficiency of English,Awadhi,Bangla,Bhojpuri and,Nagpuri .
ACADEMIC AND SOCIAL LIFE
Varma joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in the year 1990 and as a devoted swayamsevak explored the length and breadth of the country through working and training in various shakhas. The way of life,discipline and culture he learnt there imparted into his public life and social work. From the year ( 2009 -12) he was in (Prantiya Sampark Toli) zonal group .He founded up a charitable trust named Swantah Sukhaya for poor and needy person. He set up think tank named “Public Policy For India People”which works in the domain of policy making awareness and training program. Varma is also chairman of Pt.Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Bachacht Avam Sakh Swawlambi Samiti Limited.
Varma in his intial days started working at Mahadevi Birla TB santorium as hospital manager. In 2006 he opened Sarla Birla Public School and in 2017 he founded Sarla Birla University at Birla knowledge City,Ranchi .Along with this he also founded Mahadevi Birla Institute of Nursing and Technology,Ranchi,Jharkhand.
The scholarly work by Varma has been on the topic of Ramcharitmanas :“Parivar aur Samaj Prabadhan ke sutra”.He has also written blog on the several biographies on freedom fighters like Birsa Munda,Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaay and topics of national importance like Hul Andolan,Vande matram etc.
His philanthropic work for poor section of society in which he donated the developmental aid for infrastructure and reconstruction includes 1. Ara Government School Ara gate Ranchi 2. Anand Garodiya school Rahe,khunti
ENTRY INTO POLITICAL LIFE
From his college days he was very active in student politics,his political aspiration drew from Late Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. He also drew inspiration from the teachings of Chankaya Neeti and Vidur Neeti. The nationalist sentiment led by him in this campaign landed him an opportunity to be BJP Prathmik Sadasya,Khijri Mandal in 1992. Later in 1994 BJP Sakriya Sadasaya,Khijri Mandal and finally he became BJP Sadasyata Prabhari Khijri Mandal in 1997.
In 2011 BJP Pradesh Karyasamiti Sadsaya Pradesh -Sah Prashikshan Pramukh . With his growing influence among the Jharkhand and reigonal politics he has been given role in many state legislative assemblies and general elections. In the year 2013,Varma was the state minister in party cadre in BJP Jharkhand,Meanwhile in the elections of Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh in 2013 he was given opportunity to be there as election in-charge for state election out of which BJP. In 2014 in the general election he was election campaign manager and party won 12 out of 14 seats. Next year in 2015 Bihar elections in which party lost miserably which led to some changes in organisation he was given an upgrade to the post of State Vice President BJP Jharkhand in 2016 and his hardwork helped the party in upcoming Assam elections with a huge numbers. Varma was the BJP's election in-charge for Jharkhand,during the 2019 loksabha elections. The BJP and its Coalition partner in NDA won 12 out of 14 seats. As a result,Varma rose to state prominence and was appointed as the Party's State General Secretary in 2019. PERSONAL LIFE
His father Late Seth Ram Avatar Prasad was a businessman and mother Bhagwanti Devi a housewife . Later he married Sarita Varma on 18th January 1993. They have two children namely his son Aditya Vikkram Verma and daughter Satakchhi Priya Verma . Aditya Vikkram Verma is a software engineer and entreprenuer and married to Arju Soni of Garhwa while Satakchhi Priya Verma is a practicing lawyer at Jharkhand High court.

Dr Ramapati Ram Tripathi is the 17th Lok Sabha Member of Parliament in 2019 elections,he won the election from the Deoria seat of Uttar Pradesh,Dr Ramapati Ram Tripathi is a former president of Bharatiya Janata Party Uttar Pradesh state unit in India. He held the post of UP BJP General Secretary before being appointed as BJP's UP chief in September 2007.
Ram Narayan Sharma /Ram Narain Sharma was a freedom fighter from Dhanbad district,Jharkhand. His father’s name was Lt. Chandramauli Sharma and his wife's name was Bhagmati Devi. He was born in Sarain-bux village,post office Garkha,district Saran,Bihar. He was born on 31 August 1915. After the death of his first wife,he married Sundar Pati Devi. He came to Dhanbad in 1938. He has sons namely Narendra Kumar Sharma,Ravindra Kumar Sharma,Devendra Sharma,and Jitendra Sharma,and daughters namely,Lt. Sushila Thakur,Urmila Sharma,and Lilawati Singh. He was MLA for five terms. He also worked for a trade union. He had participated in the 1942 Quit India Movement and due to this he was arrested and sent to jail for three years. He was released from jail on 30 August 1945. From 1941-to 45 he participated in individual satyagraha,satyagraha,and other mass movements and for these activities,he was in jail for three and half years. He was General Secretary,Dhanbad District Congress. He was a member of Bihar P.C.C.,President of INTUC Working Committee,Bokaro Steel Workers’Union,and Vice President. He attended the ILO Coal Committee meeting at Pitsburg in 1949,represented Indian Miners at International Miners Federation’s Annual Conference held in Stockholm in 1960,and also participated in Trade Union Seminar in Denmark in 1965. In 1971 he was elected as Lok Sabha Member. He was also involved in social activities such as being a member of the District Development Committee,Dhanbad and Governing Council of Sindri College,President of Gram Dan Pragati Samiti,Dhanbad,and was associated with the cooperative movement in the Dhanbad district. He was interested in volleyball,tennis,and swimming. He died on 11 April 1985.
