Prasads Multiplex is an Indian multiplex theater in Hyderabad, Telangana. [1] [2] It is India's third IMAX theatre. [3] [4] [5] It was earlier the largest IMAX 3D screen in the world with the Sydney IMAX Theatre (123 x 97 ft) having the largest IMAX screen. [6] [ clarification needed ]

Description

The multiplex is a centrally air-conditioned venue with an area of 235,000 sq ft (21,800 m2). It has six screens, a food court and a shopping mall covering two levels of the complex. [7] [8]

History

Prasads Multiplex was launched initially as Prasad IMAX on 25 July 2003 by LV Prasad Group. [9] [10] [11] The IMAX screen number 6 was originally a 3D IMAX 70mm until 2014. Now called PCX, it is the biggest in India at 64 ft × 101.6 ft (19.5 m × 31.0 m) in a 630-seat auditorium. [12]

Sivaji: The Boss is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language masala film co-written and directed by S. Shankar and produced by AVM Productions. The film stars Rajinikanth in the main lead role alongside Shriya Saran, Vivek and Suman. In the film, a software systems architect returns to India from US to provide free medical treatment and education, but has to face hurdles from the system and an influential political leader.

PVR INOX Ltd, formerly known as PVR Cinemas, is an Indian multiplex chain based in Delhi. It was formed as a result of the merger between PVR Cinemas and INOX Leisure Multiplex. PVR pioneered the multiplex revolution in India by establishing the first multiplex cinema in 1997 at Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. In 2022, PVR Cinemas achieved the milestone of completing 25 years in the business. As of December 2023, PVR Inox has 1747 screens across 359 properties in 114 cities.

Nagulapati Srinivasa Chakravarthy, known professionally as J. D. Chakravarthy, is an Indian actor, filmmaker, screenwriter and musician known for his work primarily with Telugu cinema in addition to Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam films. Chakravarthy made his screen debut with the Telugu film, Siva, an action blockbuster directed by Ram Gopal Varma, featured at the 12th IFFI. He subsequently made his Bollywood debut with the remake of the same film titled Shiva (1990). He then starred in the blockbuster Satya, featured in the Indian panorama section at the 29th IFFI, and was listed among CNN-IBN's 100 greatest Indian films of all time. Chakravarthy received the Screen Award Special Jury Award.

<i>Parugu</i> 2008 Indian film

Parugu, titled In the Name of Love in the UK, is a 2008 Indian Telugu-language romantic action drama film written and directed by Bhaskar. The film stars Allu Arjun, Sheela Kaur and Prakash Raj. The film is produced by Dil Raju on Sri Venkateswara Creations whilst Mani Sharma composed the music. Vijay K. Chakravarthy and Marthand K. Venkatesh performed the cinematography and editing of the film respectively.

Prasad Studios and Prasad Film Labs are motion picture post-production studios headquartered in Chennai, India, founded by Prasad Group in 1956. The production house has produced over 150 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages.

Inorbit Mall is a subsidiary of K. Raheja Corporation which runs shopping malls in various parts of India. The first Inorbit Mall opened in 2004, in Malad, Mumbai. This is the fourth oldest shopping mall in Mumbai, from Infiniti Mall of Andheri, R Mall of Mulund, and Crossroads of South Mumbai. Hussain Sagar is a heart-shaped lake in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, built by Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah in 1563. It is spread across an area of 5.7 square kilometres (2.2 sq mi) and is fed by the River Musi. A large monolithic statue of the Gautama Buddha, erected in 1992, stands on Gibraltar Rock in the middle of the lake. The lake separates the city centre of Hyderabad from the neighbourhood of Secunderabad. The maximum depth of the lake is 32 feet (9.8 m).

RP Mall is a shopping mall located at Kozhikode, India. The mall contains a multiplex in its second and third floor. The multiplex has six screens spread over an area of 25,000 sq.ft has a total capacity of 610 seats. The multiplex contains five public screens and a spa theatre for private screening. Two of the screens also has 3D facility. The mall has a multicusine food court and children play area. It is the first multiplex in the city of Kozhikode. The multiplex is named as PVS Film City.

SPI Cinemas was an Indian multiplex chain originally owned by the SPI Group, headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The company was often lauded for its premium quality and inexpensive pricing. Its theatres, primarily PVR Sathyam Cinemas at Royapettah are often used by filmmakers for film premieres and audio launch events. Popcorn served at SPI Cinemas had received considerable praise from film goers and the media. In August 2018, PVR Cinemas completed the acquisition of SPI Cinemas.

<i>Backbench Student</i> 2013 Indian film

Backbench Student is a 2013 Indian Telugu-language romance film written and directed by Madhura Sreedhar Reddy. The film stars Mahat Raghavendra, Piaa Bajpai and Archana Kavi. BBS was produced by M. V. K. Reddy under the Shirdi Sai Combines banner and presented by Multidimension Entertainments. The protagonist fails in at least 16 subjects in his studies, and the story is about how this student’s life turns out to be. BBS was canned in 55 days of shooting in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam with Prasad G. K. as the director of photography. Back Bench Student is set to be released worldwide on 15 March in more than 200 theatres. This film marks the lead debut of Raghavendra.

Akkineni Ramesh Prasad is an Indian businessman and film producer, best known for his role as the chairman of Prasad Studios and Prasads Multiplex. He is credited with advancing the technical capabilities of Indian cinema.

The Statue of Equality is a statue of the 11th-century Indian philosopher Ramanuja, located on the premises of the Chinna Jeeyar Trust at Muchintal, Ranga Reddy district in the outskirts of Hyderabad. It is the second tallest sitting statue in the world. The project of building the statue was conceptualised by the trust to commemorate the 1,000th birth anniversary of Ramanuja. Costing an estimated 1,000 crore (US$120 million), the project was paid for through monetary donations by devotees in a major part.

Taurus Zentrum is a shopping mall yet to start construction in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. The mall is owned and managed by Taurus Investment Holdings. Upon completion, it would be one of the largest malls in the country with a total built up area of 1,200,000 square feet (110,000 m2). The Mall is designed by the international architectural firm, Benoy. The shopping mall is located near National Highway 66 at Technopark Phase III. The mall will have Kerala's largest multiplex and first Megaplex with 15 screens by Cinépolis. The mall will also have both IMAX and 4DX screens.

The Ribbon is a hotel, apartment building, retail store and movie theatre located in Darling Harbour, Sydney. It houses the W Sydney hotel and the third-largest operating movie theatre screen in the world. The building is named The Ribbon due to its unusual ribbon-looking appearance. On its northern and southern sides, the building is flanked by two carriageways of the Western Distributor.
