Preben Kristensen (born 14 March 1953) is a Danish actor. He first came to attention as one of the musical comedy trio Linie 3 in 1979.

He was educated from the drama school of Aarhus Theatre in 1978 and has since the played at most major theaters in Denmark.[ citation needed ] Kristensen has starred in shows and plays including roles like Tony in West Side Story , King Claudius in William Shakespeare's Hamlet , McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest , George in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? , Arnold in Torch Song Trilogy , Albin in La Cage Aux Folles , Phantom in Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera , [2] and Max Bialystok in Mel Brooks's musical comedy The Producers . In 1979 he created the musical and comedy group Linie 3 together with Thomas Eje and Anders Bircow. He has performed with the best symphony orchestras in Denmark.

Kristensen is the localized Danish voice of Lumiere in Disney's Beauty and the Beast , [3] Genie in Disney's Aladdin , [4] Berkeley Beetle in Don Bluth's Thumbelina , Woody in Toy Story 1, 2, 3 and 4, [5] and Ramon in Happy Feet and Happy Feet Two .

On television, Kristensen was one of the main characters in season two of The Killing and also appeared in the final season of Borgen .

Kristensen has received several awards for his acting, and was in 2003 knighted by Margrethe II of Denmark.

Thomas Eje is a Danish actor and entertainer. Considered one of the most popular entertainers in Denmark, he trained at the Odense Conservatory of Music and as an actor at the Aarhus Theatre, and has appeared in musicals and been honored with the Årets Dirch at the annual Danish "Review of Revues", but is best known for his work with comedy trio Linie 3 together with Preben Kristensen and Anders Bircow, as well as for a number of one-man shows. On November 15, 2006 he made his Las Vegas debut at the Suncoast Casino, under the moniker Tom Dane. After four years in Las Vegas he returned to Denmark, and Linie 3 held a successful comeback show followed by a tour. Eje is accredited for his musical talent, being able to play "an impressive number" of different musical instruments.

Linie 3 is a Danish musical comedy act comprising Preben Kristensen, Thomas Eje and Anders Bircow. The trio first performed in Århus in 1979 and released their first comedy LP in 1980. For their 30th anniversary in 2009, the group released a seven-DVD box.

The Reumert Award is an annual Danish awards ceremony to recognize excellence in theatre achievements in Denmark. The award was founded by the Bikuben Foundation in 1998, and has been handed annually since then. There are 16 award categories as well as 10 talent awards. A jury of ten specialists in theatre selects the recipients, who receive a statuette and a prize. As of 2016, the recipients also receive an amount of money. The recipients of the Reumert Award of Honour receive DKK 200,000, the recipients of the Talent Prize receive DKK 35,000 and all other categories-recipients receive DKK 40,000. The Reumert prize is named after the Danish actor Poul Reumert (1883–1968).
