Predator: The Last Hunt (also known as The Last Hunt: Predator) is the fourth comic book limited series of Marvel Comics' Predator , created and written by Ed Brisson and illustrated by Francesco Manna. The series ran for four issues from February to May 2024. Cory Smith provided cover art for this series only. A trade paperback was released on October 16, 2024. The series follows Theta Berwick (from Predator: Day of the Hunter and The Preserve ) as she is unfrozen in 2168, seeking to take down the Bad Blood Yautja operating the game preserve planet once and for all, and meeting up with John Schaefer (from Dark Horse Comics' Predator line).

Contents

The series received a positive critical reception, while the 2025 film Predator: Killer of Killers would return to concepts introduced in The Preserve and The Last Hunt, developed by Alex Litvak for the unmade sequel to Predators, in revealing the humans captured by Bad Blood Yautja and brought to their game preserve as having been taken from different time periods in history.

Publication history

In July 2020, Marvel Comics was announced to be developing a new line of Predator comic books to release in 2021, [1] The third limited series in a planned series about Yautja-hunter Theta Berwick (and fourth series overall following Predator vs. Wolverine ), Predator: The Last Hunt, written by Ed Brisson and drawn by Netho Diaz as a continuation of Predator: Day of the Hunter , the 2010 film Predators , and Predator: The Preserve , would be published in 2024, [2] also serving as a continuation of Dark Horse Comics' Predator line in featuring the return of John Schaefer, brother of Dutch (last seen in Predator: Hunters III ). [3]

The series returns to a concept developed by Alex Litvak for the unmade sequel to Predators, in revealing the humans captured by Bad Blood Yautja and brought to their game preserve planet in the future as having been taken from various time periods in human history, [4] a cut subplot from the 2018 film The Predator further revealing their ships to have time travel capabilities. [5]
