Preeti Simoes (born 31 July 1988) is an Indian television producer. [3]

Early and personal life

Preeti Simoes was born on 31 July 1988 in Bombay (now Mumbai), she has a sister, Neeti Simoes, who works alongside her in television show productions. Together, Simoes and Neeti have produced several popular Hindi TV comedy shows. [7]

Simoes and Kapil Sharma met each other while working on the Sony TV reality show, Comedy Circus. Simoes was a creative director on the show, while Sharma participated as a contestant. During the course of the show, Kapil Sharma got engaged to Simoes. [8] She was girlfriend of Kapil Sharma for 8 years[ citation needed ] and was serious to get married, but they separated after Sharma announced his new partner Ginni Charath's name on Twitter. Career

Simoes worked with Kapil Sharma on his show Comedy Nights with Kapil of Colors TV as a creative director. [10] She also was the manager of Sharma for a long period of time, when Sharma started his show, The Kapil Sharma Show, on Sony TV, she worked as celebrity coordinator and executive producer.

Later Preeti started her own show The Drama Company on Sony TV with Krushna Abhishek. [11] Prior to this in 2016, Krushna alleged that Preeti Simoes was behind the fight between him and Sharma and later was also responsible due to it, he did not invite Krushna on Comedy nights with Kapil show to promote his film Entertainment (2014) with Akshay Kumar. [3]

On 24 July 2017, Preeti Simoes started her own production house, named it as The Little Frodo. Neeti-Preeti produce shows together and have made multiple show with Sunil Grover, Manish Paul and others. In 2018, Preeti- Neeti produced show, Dan dana dan starring Sunil Grover and Shilpa Shinde. [12] In 2020, Laughter Challenge season 5 winner comedian- writer Abhishek Waliya alleged Simon for not paying his due amount, despite working for them in their show, Movie Masti with Manish Paul. In response Preeti said, "Waliya was bad and had attitude problem, so we showed him door". [13] In the same year in September, Shilpa Shinde alleged Simoes of bad behaviour. [14]

In August 2022, Simoes sisters started filming their upcoming Disney+ Hotstar webseries with Tamannaah Bhatia in Delhi. [15] [16]

Controversy

In 2017, Kapil Sharma filed a complaint at Oshiwara police station against Preeti Simoes, her sister and a journalist called Vicky Lalwani for allegedly demanding 25 lakh rupees from him. He also alleged that Simoes used to extort money from the audience at his shows and that the trio in collaboration wrote multiple negative articles about him on SpotboyE, an online news portal. Before filing the complaint, Sharma abused Lalwani in a telephone conversation and later leaked a recording of it, which went viral on social media. [6] [17] [18] [19]

Comedy Nights With Kapil is an Indian Hindi-language sketch comedy and celebrity talk show hosted and produced by comedian Kapil Sharma. It was on-air on Colors TV amid 22 June 2013 to 24 January 2016. Many of the episodes feature celebrity guests who usually appear to promote their latest films in a comedy-focused talk show format. On 25 September 2013, a fire broke out on the sets of the show at Film City in Goregaon causing the entire set to collapse and an estimated loss of 20 Crores. Following the fire, two episodes were shot on sets of Bigg Boss in Lonavla. In September 2013, the show became India's highest rated scripted TV show. At the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year awards, Sharma was awarded the Entertainer of the Year award for 2013.
