Roy Orbison and Friends: A Black and White Night is a 1988 Cinemax television special originally broadcast on January 3, 1988, starring triple Hall of Fame inductee rock/pop singer/songwriter Roy Orbison and backing band TCB Band with special guests including Bruce Springsteen, k.d. lang and others. The special was filmed entirely in black and white. After the broadcast the concert was released on VHS and Laserdisc. A live album was released in 1989.
August and Everything After is the debut studio album by American rock band Counting Crows, released September 14, 1993, on Geffen Records. The album was produced by T Bone Burnett and featured the founding members of the band: Steve Bowman (drums), David Bryson (guitar), Adam Duritz (vocals), Charlie Gillingham (keyboards), and Matt Malley (bass). Among the several session musicians used for the album was multi-instrumentalist David Immerglück, who later joined the band as a full-time member in 1999, as well as Burnett, who also provided additional guitar work.
Live! is Catch 22's first full-length live release, although fan-recorded live tracks were bonus features on several previous albums. Roughly a third of the album is devoted to Keasbey Nights, another third to Alone in a Crowd, and the remainder to Dinosaur Sounds. A bonus DVD includes footage from the concert, as well as a variety of extras. However, former frontman Tomas Kalnoky is conspicuously absent from the footage of the band's early days.
Haste the Day was an American metalcore band formed in Carmel, Indiana in 2001 and signed to Solid State Records. Their name is derived from a lyric in the hymn "It Is Well with My Soul" by Horatio Spafford. The band released an EP titled That They May Know You, in 2002, followed by five studio albums: Burning Bridges (2004), When Everything Falls (2005), Pressure the Hinges (2007), Dreamer (2008), and Attack of the Wolf King (2010). The group disbanded in March 2011 but reformed in 2014 and released Coward in 2015.
As Cities Burn is an American post-hardcore band from Mandeville, Louisiana that formed in 2002 and have released four studio albums. Their debut, Son, I Loved You at Your Darkest, was released in 2005. Two years later, they released Come Now Sleep. Then, in 2009, As Cities Burn released their third album, Hell or High Water. The band had performed from 2011 through 2016, but drummer Aaron Lunsford announced, on August 16, 2016, that the group disbanded. In December 2017, As Cities Burn reunited and went on tour to open up for Emery, and announced that they were staying together and writing new music.
Queen on Fire – Live at the Bowl is a live album/DVD by the British rock band Queen released on 25 October 2004 in Europe and on 9 November 2004 in the US. It was recorded live at the Milton Keynes Bowl, Buckinghamshire, England, on 5 June 1982 during the Hot Space Tour. A DVD was also released with the complete concert and bonus material, such as band interviews and tour highlights.
Burning Bridges is Haste the Day's debut full-length album. It was released on March 9, 2004, through Solid State Records. Music videos were released for "The Closest Thing to Closure" and "American Love".
When Everything Falls is Haste the Day's second full-length album. It was released on June 28, 2005 through Solid State Records. This was the last record to feature the band's original vocalist Jimmy Ryan until their 2015 release Coward.
Our Live Album Is Better than Your Live Album is a 2-disc live album by ska-punk band Reel Big Fish composed of both an extended length Reel Big Fish live set list, and a DVD of a March 2006 live show that also includes documentary footage on the band. The DVD portion was directed by Jonathan London, who previously directed the music video for their song "Don't Start A Band". Previews of the album can be heard on Reel Big Fish's MySpace. It is currently available for download at Rock Ridge Music and iTunes and was released in stores on August 22, 2006. The booklet included in the kit notes that the album is dedicated to Desmond Dekker.
Touring the Angel: Live in Milan is a live video album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode, released on 25 September 2006 by Mute Records. It was directed and filmed by Blue Leach at Fila Forum in Assago, near Milan, Italy, on 18 and 19 February 2006, during the band's 2005–06 Touring the Angel concert tour.
The Information is the tenth studio album by American musician Beck, released on October 3, 2006 by Interscope Records. It was produced and mixed by Nigel Godrich, with whom Beck had previously recorded Mutations (1998) and Sea Change (2002). Recording took place from 2003 to 2006, with Beck concurrently working on 2005's Guero with The Dust Brothers. The album received positive reviews from critics and made several publications' year-end lists.
Grace Under Pressure Tour is a concert released on Betamax, VHS, Laserdisc, and DVD by the Canadian band Rush. It documents a live concert performance by the band on their 1984 tour in support of the studio album Grace Under Pressure.
Live: In the Round, in Your Face is a live video from Def Leppard. The video contains a full Def Leppard live show at the McNichols Sports Arena in Denver, Colorado and additional footage from shows at The Omni in Atlanta, Georgia, compiled from footage shot during the band's 1987/1988 US Hysteria World Tour. On DVD, it is bundled with Historia.
Dreamer is the fourth studio album by Christian metalcore band Haste the Day. The album was released on October 14, 2008 through Solid State Records. A song from the album, entitled "68" was released on the band's MySpace on August 1. A second new song, the second track off the album entitled "Mad Man," was made available for download on iTunes September 9. The third song Haste the Day has announced the release of is "Haunting," which was posted on the band's Myspace on September 6, 2008. The final track on the album, "Autumn" is originally from Haste the Day's first release That They May Know You. They released a music video for the song Mad Man on February 24, 2009. This is the last album to feature Devin Chaulk, Brennan Chaulk and Jason Barnes.
Comatose Comes Alive is a live album and second live DVD by the Christian rock band Skillet, which peaked at No. 164 on the Billboard 200. It is the band's first combination CD/DVD of live recording, as their first official live album was 2000's Ardent Worship, a worship album recorded live. The band's first live DVD was the Alien Youth DVD, which featured an acoustic performance. Comatose Comes Alive was recorded at the Tivoli Theatre on May 9, 2008, in Chattanooga, Tennessee and was released on October 21, 2008. The album is a CD of the concert's audio and a DVD capturing the live show. However, John Cooper's speech after "Savior" is cut from the CD. This is also the first release to feature Jen Ledger on drums.
To Plant a Seed is the debut studio album by We Came as Romans. It was released by Equal Vision Records on November 3, 2009 and was produced by Joey Sturgis. Artwork for the album was done by Paul Romano to which coincides to We Came as Romans' positive message as explained by guitarist Joshua Moore that the lyrical themes on To Plant a Seed are based-up spreading this message. A deluxe edition of the album was released on January 18, 2011 which includes one bonus track and a DVD entitled To Plant a DVD.
Jimmy Ryan is the original vocalist for the heavy metal bands, Haste the Day, Trenches, and Upheaval. Ryan appears on Zao's The Lesser Lights of Heaven DVD. He also has a love for riding his bicycle.
The Melancholy Connection is a compilation album with a bonus DVD by the Swedish punk rock band Millencolin. The album follows up The Melancholy Collection which also contained rare and unreleased tracks. The DVD features a documentary that looks inside the making of Pennybridge Pioneers, with archival footage of the band and Bad Religion/Epitaph founder Brett Gurewitz who produced Pennybridge Pioneers and played Acoustic Guitar on "The Ballad."
Stephen Keech is an American producer, songwriter, and composer living in Nashville, Tennessee. He spent his early years as the vocalist and songwriter for Solid State Records band Haste the Day. He was also the vocalist for New Day Awakening and is the current bassist for As Cities Burn.
The Cars Unlocked: The Live Performances is a 2006 live album and video of American new wave band the Cars released by Warner Music in 2006. The album has received mixed reviews due to the mixed quality of the source material.
