Progresso da Lunda Sul was an Angolan sports club from Saurimo, [1] the capital city of Lunda Sul province. The club was an affiliate of Progresso do Sambizanga and shares the same outfit colours. Originally established as Progresso do Sambukila, the club changed its name in 2014 to its current denomination.

The club was owned by Angolan businessman Ernesto dos Santos Lino aka Santos Bikuku.

In 2014, the club won the 2014 Angolan second division Group B thus being promoted to the 2015 Girabola.

1979 Girabola was the annual national Angola football (soccer) tournament, Girabola, held in 1979. It was the first national championship organized after Angola achieved independence in 1975. Due to the Angolan Civil War this was the first tournament that included teams from all Angolan provinces. By then, there were only sixteen provinces. Later on, the province of Lunda was split in two: Lunda Norte and Lunda Sul and Bengo was also created.

The 1987 Girabola was the ninth season of top-tier football competition in Angola. Atlético Petróleos de Luanda were the defending champions.
