The Proleksis Encyclopedia (Croatian : Proleksis enciklopedija) is the first Croatian general and national online encyclopedia. [2]
Proleksis Encyclopedia features more than 62,000 articles and more than 17,000 photographs, illustrations and maps. [1] [2] It is freely available to registered users of CARNET, the Croatian national research and education network. [2] The users cannot change the encyclopedia's content directly, but they can post comments and corrections, or submit new articles, all subject to approval by the editorial board. [3] The encyclopedia aims to enlarge the number of entries using input from collaborators. [3]
Proleksis Encyclopedia is a result of collaboration between CARNET and Pro Leksis d.o.o., started in February 2008, and is supported by the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sports. [2] [3] It was created by approximately 50 editors, headed by a 9-person editorial board. [2] Its Editor-in-Chief is Antun Vujić. [1]
The Encyclopædia Britannica is a general knowledge English-language encyclopaedia. It is published by Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc.; the company has existed since the 18th century, although it has changed ownership various times through the centuries. The encyclopaedia is maintained by about 100 full-time editors and more than 4,000 contributors. The 2010 version of the 15th edition, which spans 32 volumes and 32,640 pages, was the last printed edition. Since 2011 it has been published exclusively as an online encyclopaedia.

Lithuanian encyclopedias are encyclopedias published in the Lithuanian language or encyclopedias about Lithuania and Lithuania-related topics. The first known attempt to create a Lithuanian encyclopedia was in 1883, when Jonas Jacevičius failed to get permission from the Tsarist authorities for such a publication during the Lithuanian press ban (1866–1904). Several general Lithuanian encyclopedias were published afterwards: one in independent Lithuania in the 1930s, two in the United States, three in the Lithuanian SSR, and one that was published in 2001–2015 in independent Lithuania. The University Computing Centre in Zagreb has a long tradition in the area of information and communication technologies. It was founded in 1971 within the University of Zagreb, the only Croatian university at the time, with the purpose to enhance the implementation of information technologies in the academic community as well as in Croatia in general.

The Visuotinė lietuvių enciklopedija or VLE is a 25-volume universal Lithuanian-language encyclopedia published by the Science and Encyclopaedia Publishing Institute from 2001 to 2014. VLE is the first published universal encyclopedia in independent Lithuania. The last volume, XXV, was published in July 2014. An additional volume of updates, error corrections, and indexes was published in 2015. The encyclopedia's twenty-five volumes contain nearly 122,000 articles and about 25,000 illustrations. Since 2017 June the VLE is published as an online encyclopedia being updated to present day.

The Croatian Partisans, officially the National Liberation Movement in Croatia, were part of the anti-fascist National Liberational Movement in the Axis-occupied Yugoslavia which was the most effective anti-Nazi resistance movement led by Yugoslav revolutionary communists during the Second World War. NOP was under the leadership of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia (KPJ) and supported by many others, with Croatian Peasant Party members contributing to it significantly. NOP units were able to temporarily or permanently liberate large parts of Croatia from occupying forces. Based on the NOP, the Federal Republic of Croatia, which was referred to by Winston Churchill as "the Croatian miracle" was founded as a constituent of the Democratic Federal Yugoslavia.
Croatian Radio is the official broadcasting service of Croatia. Founded on May 15, 1926 as Zagreb Radio, it's the first radio station in all of Southeast Europe. Part of Croatian Radiotelevision, it operates three national stations, several regional branches and an international service.
The Latvian National Encyclopedia is a universal encyclopedia in Latvian, which was published in 2018 to mark the centenary of the independence of Latvia. The board of editors of the encyclopedia works as an affiliate of the National Library of Latvia.
