Pugazhendhi, commonly known as Pugazh, was an Indian actor and comedian. [2] He rose to fame after appearing on Star Vijay's Cooku with Comali .

Personal life

Pugazh was born on 14 January 1990 in Cuddalore. He was educated at St. Joseph's High School and Sri Padaleswarar Secondary School in Thirupapuliyur. [1] Pugazh married Benzi Riya in 2022. [3] They have one daughter born in September 2023. [4]

Career

Pugazh grew to prominence after competing in Cooku with Comali . He is known for his mimicry and humour. Udayaraj of Baana Kaathadi fame helped Pugazh audition for Kalakka Povathu Yaaru , but was not cast. Undeterred, he worked as a computer serviceman at Vijay TV and later starred in Sirippu Da alongside Dheena. Following his later selection and success in Kalakka Povathu Yaaru, he was given the opportunity to participate in Cooku with Comali. He garnered success on the show resulting in several offers to act in Tamil films. He debuted in Sixer [5] and has since starred in more movies like Cocktail, [6] and Sabhaapathy . [7]

Valimai (transl. Strength) is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by H. Vinoth, and produced by Boney Kapoor under Bayview Projects LLP in collaboration with Zee Studios, as co-producer and distributor. The film stars Ajith Kumar, Karthikeya, Huma Qureshi and Gurbani Judge. The film score is composed by Ghibran and the songs are composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Cooku with Comali, also known by the acronym CWC, is an Indian Tamil-language comedy-based cooking competition show aired on Star Vijay and streams on Disney+ Hotstar where the contestants are paired each week with comedians (comalis) who are amateur cooks. The first season premiered on 16 November 2019 and ended on 23 February 2020. The second season premiered on 14 November 2020 and ended on 14 April 2021. The third season premiered on 22 January 2022 and ended on 24 July 2022. The fourth season premiered on 28 January 2023 and ended on 30 July 2023. The contestants along with their comalis are challenged every week and are judged by Chef Damu and Chef Venkatesh Bhat until season 4.

Sivaangi Krishnakumar, also known as Jeya, is an Indian actress, playback singer and television personality. In 2012, she participated in the singing competition Super Singer 7, which was aired on Star Vijay. In 2020, she appeared in the comedy-cooking show, Cooku With Comali, which gained her popularity. She is the daughter of Kalaimamani award winners Dr. K Krishnakumar and Binni Krishnakumar. She has acted in films such as Don (2022), Naai Sekar Returns (2022) and Shot Boot Three (2023). She made her debut as a singer in the Tamil film Pasanga (2012) with the song "Anbaale Azhagana Veedu".

Aravind Parameswaran, popularly known by his stage name Chutti Aravind, is an Indian actor, mimicry artist and comedian who is currently working in the Tamil film industry, he debuted in the Tamil film Chennai Kadhal in 2006. In 2022, he participated in the popular cooking show Cooku with Comali as a contestant in Star Vijay.
