Pushkaraj Chirputkar is a Marathi actor and host widely known for his role of 'Ashu' on the Marathi sitcom Dil Dosti Duniyadari , as well as for his role in its sequel, Dil Dosti Dobara . Since then he has appeared in Hindi and Marathi movies, and also on webseries. [1]

Early life

He grew up in Akurdi. He went to a convent school, St. Ursula's. His interest in being part of co-curricular activities, rather than classroom education, got him interested in acting. He completed his Engineering in Electronics & Telecommunications from Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, Akurdi, during which he used to do practice and perform plays with local theatre groups. At the time he also dabbled in acting, writing and directing numerous local short films like Forget It at IMDb alongside Amey Wagh and Shruti Marathe as lead actors which later aired on Zee Yuva in 2016. His family was also very interested in Marathi cinema and theatre. He started out by mimicking Dilip Prabhavalkar as a child, after watching him on TV. [2] [ verification needed ]

Career

Chirputkar became known with the role of the simpleton Ashu (Ashutosh Shivalkar) on the Marathi Sitcom Dil Dosti Duniyadari, which became an instant success. [3] He was also in its reboot sequel, Dil Dosti Dobara . [4] He has also been part of Marathi movies like Baapjanma (2017), [5] Tujha Tu Majha Mi (2017), [1] 1 Te 4 Band (2017) and Mantr (2018). He was seen in the Hindi Movie, Budhiya Singh - Born to Run . He also co-hosted Filmfare Award (Marathi) in 2017, alongside Pushkar Shrotri . [6] He also was the host of Maharshtracha Favorite Dancer in 2018 which aired on Sony Marathi. [7] He also made a cameo appearance in Amazon Prime's Original Show The Family Man (2019). He will be seen in Medium Spicy, [8] [9] a Marathi film which is scheduled to be released in 2020.

He also played a role in BhaDiPa's sketch comedies Aaplya Baapacha Hatel and Aaplya Baapacha Rasta .

Dil Dosti Duniyadari is a Marathi television sitcom produced by Sanjay Jadhav and Deepak Rane. It started airing on Zee Marathi from 9 March 2015. It revolves around six friends living as paying guests in Mumbai with the home owner's nephew Sujay, in a house they affectionately call "Mazghar". The serial's first season concluded on 20 February 2016. The series second season, Dil Dosti Dobara, was a reboot sequel.

Amar Photo Studio is a two-act Marathi play directed by Nipun Dharmadhikari, featuring Amey Wagh, Sakhi Gokhale, Suvrat Joshi, Pooja Thombre and Siddhesh Purkar. The first show was on August 13, 2016 at Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruha, Kothrud. It was written by Manaswini Lata Ravindra. The play is produced by Subak, in association with Kalakarkhana. Sakhi Gokhale was replaced by Parna Pethe after the 250th show.

Manaswini Lata Ravindra is a Marathi playwright, screenwriter and director, known for writing the play Amar Photo Studio and also being one of the writers of the Marathi sitcom Dil Dosti Duniyadari. Baapjanma is a 2017 Indian Marathi social drama directed by Nipun Dharmadhikari. This is Dharamdhikari's second film although it released first. The story revolves around a retired and widowed intelligence officer who is estranged from his married children, who suddenly becomes terminally ill and then sets out to make amends using unconventional methods, with an unexpected ending.

TTMM – Tujha Tu Majha Mi is an Indian Marathi language film directed by Kuldip Jadhav. The film stars Lalit Prabhakar, Neha Mahajan, Vidyadhar Joshi and Savita Prabhune. Music by Pankaj Padghan. The film was released on 16 June 2017.

<i>Medium Spicy</i> 2022 Indian film

Medium Spicy is an Indian Marathi language film directed by Mohit Takalkar and produced by Vidhi Kasliwal under the banner of Landmarc Films, starring Lalit Prabhakar, Sai Tamhankar and Parna Pethe. Music by Saurabh Bhalerao, Hrishikesh Datar and Jasraj Joshi. It was theatrically released on 17 June 2022.
