On October 5, 2007, Hudson began to phase out the Puzzle Series brand, announcing a new puzzle series for the Nintendo DS. The titles are:

DSiWare games

In 2009, Hudson began releasing DSiWare adaptations of some of its puzzle games:

  • Sudoku 50! (Sudoku Student in America), adapted from Sudoku DS: Nikoli no Sudoku Ketteiban, released March 18, 2009 in Japan, [10] June 26, 2009 in Europe [11]
  • Sudoku 150! (Sudoku Master in America), adapted from Sudoku DS: Nikoli no Sudoku Ketteiban, released March 18, 2009 in Japan, [10] June 29, 2009 in America [12]
  • Illustlogic, adapted from Illustlogic DS + Colorful Logic, released April 15, 2009 in Japan [10]
  • Illustlogic + Nihon no Mukashi Banashi (イラストロジック+日本の昔話), adapted from Illustlogic DS + Colorful Logic, released September 30, 2009 in Japan [10]
  • Sudoku Sensei, adapted from Sudoku DS: Nikoli no Sudoku Ketteiban, released January 15, 2010 in Europe, [11]

Wii PUZZLE Series

Games in the Wii PUZZLE Series are:

A Crossword game, presumed to be branded as a Puzzle Series game,[ citation needed ] was announced by Hudson at the Japanese Wii Preview event on September 14, 2006 with a projected release in March 2007, [15] but was never released.

Jigsawpuzzle

Puzzle Series features a Jigsawpuzzle sub-brand, which includes:

Hudson stopped using Jigsawpuzzle branding for jigsaw puzzle games with the announcement of Jigsawpuzzle DS: DS de Meguru Sekai Isan no Tabi as part of a new puzzle series in October 2007. [8]

3DS game

In 2011, Hudson released its final puzzle game, a Nintendo 3DS game collection of four Nikoli puzzles: Sudoku, Shikaku, Hashiwokakero and Light Up. It was released in Japan on June 2 as Sudoku to 3-Tsu no Puzzle: Nikoli no Puzzle Variety (数独と3つのパズル~ニコリのパズルバラエティ~, Sudoku and 3 Puzzles: Nikoli Puzzle Variety); [21] in Europe on June 9 as Sudoku – The Puzzle Game Collection; [22] and in America as Nikoli's Pencil Puzzle on October 25. TwinBee (ツインビー) is a video game series composed primarily of cartoon-themed vertical-scrolling shoot-'em-up games produced by Konami that were released primarily in Japan. The series originated as a coin-operated video game simply titled TwinBee in 1985, which was followed by several home versions and sequels. The character designs of almost every game in the series since Detana!! TwinBee in 1991 were provided by Japanese animator Shuzilow HA, who also planned and supervised most of the subsequent installments in the TwinBee series. Gyruss is shoot 'em up arcade video game designed by Yoshiki Okamoto and released by Konami in 1983. Gyruss was initially licensed to Centuri in the United States for dedicated machines, before Konami released their own self-distributed conversion kits for the game. Nikoli Co., Ltd. is a Japanese publisher that specializes in games and, especially, logic puzzles. Nikoli is also the nickname of a quarterly magazine issued by the company in Tokyo. Nikoli was established in 1980, and became prominent worldwide with the popularity of Sudoku.

<i>Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day!</i> 2005 puzzle video game

Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day!, known as Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? in PAL regions, is an edutainment puzzle video game. It was developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. Nintendo has stated that it is an entertainment product inspired by Tohoku University professor Ryuta Kawashima's work in the neurosciences.

<i>Marios Picross</i> 1995 video game

Mario's Picross is a 1995 puzzle video game for the Game Boy. Developed by Jupiter and Ape and published by Nintendo, it is a compilation of nonogram logic puzzles. The game stars Mario who chisels away at puzzle grids to form pictures. The game initially received positive reviews, with reviewers citing its length and addictive nature as a positive, but its grid sizes and absence of typical Mario elements as a negative.

Brain Buster Puzzle Pak known in Japan as Nemurenai Yoru to Puzzle no Hi ni wa..., is a puzzle video game released for Nintendo DS in Japan, North America, and the PAL region. The game is a compilation of Nikoli puzzle games including Light Up, Slitherlink, Sudoku, Nurikabe, and Kakuro.

<i>Miami Law</i> 2009 video game

Miami Law, known in Japan and Europe as Miami Crisis, is an adventure video game developed by Hudson Soft for the Nintendo DS handheld system. Though produced by a Japanese company, the title was initially released in North America on June 9, 2009 and it was released in Europe on September 25, with the English localization being the first project by Gaijinworks since its establishment in 2006. Hudson Soft worked closely with Gaijinworks founder and head translator Victor Ireland on the project, who sent a research team to Miami, Florida to aid in development of the title. The game features music by hip hop group Miami Beat Wave, who were licensed by Ireland to give the game's location an authentic feel.

Hamster Corporation is a Japanese video game publisher, with office located in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan. The game division of Toshiba-EMI Limited spun off Hamster Corporation in November 1999.
