The Quail Meadows Golf Course is a public, 18-hole par 72 Championship Style course located in Washington, Illinois. [1]
Founded and constructed in 1970, the course stretches from 5,468 yards to 7,205 yards depending on which tees are played and their subsequent placement. [2] The course has a slope rating of 125 and an overall course rating of 72.9. [3] The course uses bent grass greens and bluegrass fairways. The front nine consists of multiple water hazards and sand traps, [3] while the back nine is heavily lined with trees and features numerous slopes. The property includes several acres of restored natural habitat, serving as a host for butterflies, birds, deer, and insects. [4]
The playing season in central Illinois typically lasts from March to October. The course serves as the hub for countless youth lessons, youth tournaments, and local amateur outings and tournaments. [5] The course installed a simulator in the early 21st century, part of large renovations made to the club house. [6] The course is owned and operated by the Fondulac Park District. [4]
