Queen Charlotte Bay (Spanish: Bahia San Julian ) is a bay/fjord on the west coast of West Falkland. It is one of the two main bays on that coast, the other being King George Bay. Islands in the bay include Weddell Island, and Fox Island. It has an extremely intricate shoreline, and is regularly battered by westerly winds.
The Gulf of Saint Lawrence is the outlet of the North American Great Lakes via the Saint Lawrence River into the Atlantic Ocean. The gulf is a semi-enclosed sea, covering an area of about 226,000 square kilometres (87,000 sq mi) and containing about 34,500 cubic kilometres (8,300 cu mi) of water, which results in an average depth of 152 metres (499 ft).
Green Island is a rocky island near the mouth of Fortune Bay, Newfoundland. It is located about 10 km (6 mi) west of the Burin Peninsula of Newfoundland near Point May, and 10 km (6 mi) east of St. Pierre in the French islands of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon.
Fox Bay is the second largest settlement on West Falkland in the Falkland Islands. It is located on a bay of the same name, and is on the south east coast of the island. It is often divided into Fox Bay East ("FBE") and Fox Bay West ("FBW") making it two settlements: combined, these make the largest settlement on West Falkland, but if separated, Port Howard is the largest. Fox Bay takes its name, like the Warrah River, from the Falkland fox, an animal locally called the warrah and now extinct.
Chartres is one of the main settlements on West Falkland, in the Falkland Islands. It is on the west coast of West Falkland, at the mouth of Chartres River, at the eastern shore of King George Bay. One of the two only proper roads on West Falkland runs between Chartres and Port Howard. It is one of the closest settlements to Mount Adam to the North, the highest point on West Falkland.
Byron Sound is a large fjord-like bay on the coast of West Falkland in the Falkland Islands, facing northwards. There is one main settlement on the bay: Hill Cove, and it contains numerous islands, including Saunders Island. It appears to be the glacially enlarged estuary of the Blackburn River.
Port Patterson is a settlement on Carcass Island in the western Falkland Islands. It takes its name from the bay it is on, on the south west coast of the island. It was founded in the late 19th century.
Sikorsky Glacier is a glacier on the west coast of Graham Land, Antarctica draining northwestwards into Hughes Bay north of Charles Point.
Bluie was the United States military code name for Greenland during World War II. It is remembered by the numbered sequence of base locations identified by the 1941 United States Coast Guard South Greenland Survey Expedition, and subsequently used in radio communications by airmen unfamiliar with pronunciation of the Inuit and Old Norse names of those locations. These were typically spoken BLUIE (direction) (number), with direction being east or west along the Greenland coast from Cape Farewell.

Bridger Bay is a semi-circular bay 2.5 nautical miles (5 km) wide, lying west of Tickell Head along the north coast of Coronation Island, in the South Orkney Islands. It was discovered in 1821 in the course of the joint cruise by Captain Nathaniel Palmer, an American sealer, and Captain George Powell, a British sealer. It was surveyed by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1956–58 and named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee for John F.D. Bridger, who participated in the survey of Coronation Island and Signy Island.
Swan Point is the point on the southwest side of the entrance to Queen Charlotte Bay, forming the northeast extremity of Weddell Island in the Falkland Islands.
Weddell Settlement is the only settlement on Weddell Island in the Falkland Islands, situated on the east coast of the island at the head of the sheltered Gull Harbour, part of Queen Charlotte Bay. It is located at 51°53′46″S60°54′27″W, which is 12.15 kilometres (7.55 mi) northeast of Race Point, 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south by west of Swan Point, 212 kilometres (132 mi) west-southwest of Stanley and 56.6 kilometres (35.2 mi) west of Fox Bay on West Falkland.
Chatham Harbour is the large bay indenting the central part of Weddell Island in the Falkland Islands. It is entered east of Beacon Point and west of Loop Head. The 3 km wide bay extends 5 km in southeast direction, this part of the feature forming an anchorage named Bald Road, and north of Clay Point turning for 10 km in southwest direction. Chatham Harbour is centred at 51°50′16″S60°57′32″W.
French Harbour is the 500 m wide bay indenting for 3.1 km the west coast of Weddell Island in the Falkland Islands. It is entered 5.5 km north of Weddell Point, and centred at 51°51′03″S61°06′50″W.
Gull Harbour is the 1.3 km wide bay indenting for 2.8 km the east coast of Weddell Island in the Falkland Islands. It is entered north of Gull Point and south of Mark Point, and is centred at 51°53′56″S60°53′20″W. The principal settlement of the island, Weddell Settlement, is situated at the head of the bay. Until the mid-nineteenth century Gull Harbour was known as Great Harbour.
Loop Head is the point on the east side of the entrance to Chatham Harbour in Weddell Island, Falkland Islands. It is located at 51°45′48″S60°53′49″W, which is 2.4 kilometres (1.5 mi) west of Swan Point and 5.5 kilometres (3.4 mi) east-northeast of Beacon Point.
New Year Cove is the 1.7 km wide bay indenting for 2.45 km the southeast coast of Weddell Island in the Falkland Islands. It is entered north of Hadassah Point and south of Circum Point and centred at 51°56′30″S60°54′30″W.
Carew Harbour is a 3 km (1.6 nmi) wide bay indenting for 8 km (4.3 nmi) the southwest coast of West Falkland in the Falkland Islands, South Atlantic. It is part of Queen Charlotte Bay, centered at 51.8277°S 60.7104°W
